Shawshank 702369 21 SMD LED Folding Desk Lamp, 2" x 8" x 2.75", Purple

I got one of these because I always want more light at my computer desk (and because I like being able to detach it and take it places). It is super-bright and excellent for detail work. It makes a very loud clacking sound when you adjust the height and angle that I could do without.HOWEVER, I found the weirdest bug ever. I had it plugged into my computer (I leave it plugged in unless I'm using it elsewhere). It was turned on and I had to reboot my computer. And now it's dead. Kaput. Blown out. Somehow, something about it being connected to the USB power supply during a reboot just killed some mechanism inside of it and it won't light up. I love my little purple lamp, and I killed it. :(

Would have rated it 5 stars had I not been sent one that was clearly used. Specifically it was scratched up and the batteries were pre-installed and half dead to the point that I did not realize how bright it was until I plugged in the USB cable and discovered it was three times brighter. If I pay full price, I expect the item to be new and to present as new.

I didn't expect it to be fully charged right out of the box. Perfect for the dorm.

Wonderful bright "full daylight" - easy to use.

I bought this to use in dim light for my knitting projects. It works great; good light, and very compact when not in use. I love the purple, too!

Be careful plugging it into a laptop, it caused mine to need a hard reset right after plugging it in (needed to take out my laptop battery and reinsert it.)
