Amo has even the darkest romance readers *clutching their pearls* with this EPIC.TOXIC. love story!
For all of my #TOXICA dark romance queens out there, get ready because AMO done did the thing y'all... seriously, the QUEEN herself had me *clutching my own pearls* for about 88% of this wild ride, but damn was I freaking here for it ALL!!! So first and foremost, if you have potential triggers, please please read Amo's detailed list of warnings for readers, because imma be real honest, Amo woke up & chose violence with this one, all while politely//chaotically looking at any niceties only to say "sayonara. adios. peace out!"My true rating: 4.75/5Spice Level: 1,000,000/5I won't lie to y'all... this book is NOT for the faint of heart. I mean that with the upmost sincerity, & I'm even talking to my girlies with a love of all the dark romance books circulating Bookstagram/ Booktok, because y'all aha listennnn those are mere *child's play* to Meraki & Niko's EPIC. TOXIC AF. JAW DROPPING. CHAOTIC. masterpiece of a love story gifted to us by Amo the queen herself. I absolutely devoured this book in about 4ish hours, like couldn't get enough.I ABSOLUTELY fell head over freaking heels for Meraki, she was dark, she was a bad b**ch, she was mouthy, she was fire and sin and gave me LIFE throughout the entirety of this book!!!BUT Y'ALL...Everything fell to the wayside whenever my mans Niko/Antichrist - better known in my head as the dark greek god - came onto the scene. The things my #toxica side would do for this man!!!!!!The dark twists and turns and guessing game Amo has her readers playing while journeying through this Meraki and Niko's chaotic as all hell romance had me getting a bit of deja vu, bringing me back at times to my experience with reading Sicko - (a True 5-star all-time Hall of Fame read for me) - which is the ultimate reason why I gave this one a 4.75 and not a 5-star rating, because there were just a few too many moments my mind was having that deja vu and pulling my brain away from the gloriousness that is Meraki/Niko. That being said.... I probably would not have had that issue at all if I hadn't just read Sicko in January of this year, so I am confident for most Amo die-hards who read it closer to its release, y'all will not have any issues or if anything it will just tug on your black-heartstrings even more and make the experience that much better.Y'all I cant even put it into words, you just gotta go into it and experience these characters, their backstories, and most importantly their chaotic toxic dark and phenomenal love story. Amo, you know I am obsessed with you and literally every freaking book, teaser, TikTok, short story you put into the world and Antichrist is just another A1 high-quality showing of your incredible talent as an author. SO all of the love and congrats to you on this latest masterpiece, NOW GET BACK TO MAYHEM PLEASEEEEE GRACIAS hahaha.Y'all just stop what you are doing. NOW. and go Amazon one-click it, download it, add it to your KU library, or all of the above. You will NOT be disappointed AT ALL, but take my one last piece of advice, pour yourself a double *triple* of your strongest alcohol before you begin, because boy are y'all gonna need it!!!

That podcast though…
Meraki and Niko have a past. They were best friends who lost their virginity to each other, had a solid group of friends and did everything together. The death of Niko’s twin brother kicks their relationship into overdrive. Niko splits, leaving Meraki to deal with the demons of their town of Halsin. She’s in an on-again off-again relationship with Niko’s best friend Luca, who is not as he seems. So, what happens when Niko appears back in Halsin after many years of being away?————First and foremost, do not go into this book thinking this story will be anything like Sicko, because it’s way different. Yes, both are MC dark romances, but Antichrist is in a completely different realm. When I first opened the book and read the list of triggers, I got weirdly excited. Some were a first for the Amo universe and I was happy to see where she was going to take us on this journey with some of the more triggering triggers. The story:Make sure you pay attention to everything. The story flips back and forth between past and present between mainly Niko and Meraki’s POV, but Luca is thrown in there sporadically. To be honest, I did get lost in the shuffle quite a few times while reading this. In order to understand the story, be on the lookout.Meraki was listening periodically to a podcast, where the host took us on a journey all of her own that is dark and gross. It was fun and I couldn’t wait to get back into that story, as Meraki stopped and started it. It was a story within a story. Loved that! The characters:Niko and Meraki - I loved that they were kindred spirits, always going back to each other, no matter how many years split them apart. I was hoping for a little bit more darker elements from Niko. Meraki was adorable and had to do what she had to do to survive.I’m disappointed in having to give this book 4 stars, as I have not done that in the Amo Universe thus far, but I was waiting for something a little darker to push me over the edge. Please keep an open mind while reading this and pay attention.

Rough.... but great... absolutely great
This was a dark one. But I seem to love them the most. I loved this story because it felt as it was 20 lifetimes amd 30 novellas wrapped into one big one.

Lots of thriller, with that dark Amo romance
Yet another jaw dropping dark and twisted story from the beautifully twisted mind of Amo Jones, whose stories can only predictable be one thing: RADICALLY unpredictable. This standalone delivers that classic “what is wrong with me for loving that” Amo Jones dark, gothic, practically macabre romance full of mind bending twists and heavy on the suspense and swimming in triggers. Intrigued? Apprehensive? Salivating? Yup, all of the above.Per usual, it’s practically impossible to give you a window into this story without revealing anything…and well, because half the time you yourself aren’t quite sure what’s going on. That’s the Amo Jones narrative experience- you’re immersed so completely in the chaos that you’re as disoriented and impacted as our characters. There’s also a lot going on this story (perhaps a bit to0 much)- MC, mafia, second chance romance. And, we have a lot of violence and and murdery vibes. Amo leans heavily on the suspense side of romantic suspense- a nod to her future writing exploration in more of a thriller capacity. The result is a nail baiting page turner loaded with dark themes and a truly messed up hero, twist after twist. The romance itself, however, felt like more a backseat to the broader story, which often is what grounds me in a complicated, oft intentionally confusing storyline.A promising taste of Amo’s thriller skillset, and another dark and twisted delight. We still have all the raw, harrowing, gritty, unsettling, and highly entertaining.

Good but..
Okay… some spoilers ahead........never written a review so big. But I just feel all over the place after reading this.I did enjoy the book but felt like I was left with so many questions and unsatisfied with the plot....So hear me out! I loved sicko. Thought we were in for something similar. But.. here’s what I didn’t love..What happened between Mer and Luca under the church for her to comply to women being enslaved and raped and their babies being stolen. I really feel like there shoulda been more effort from her to help these women. And I wanted to see that perhaps Luca and his dad perhaps had something massive on her. Also the girl she did save, why did Luca let her?? So the girl tells Mer she hasn’t done enough to save her and Mer knew she’d now but she not. But next thing, she’s telling the sister to get ready to go. And Luca says she owes him for letting the girl leave. What happened here??Also, why was Mer not allowed in the houses out the back when she knew was going on and was being f blackmailed apparently.Nik - he knew something was going on with Luca and Mer that wasn’t right. How? And he was so sure but he left her to go be ghost. (Which is just felt was a bit weak. He was the most powerful guy now and knew Mer was being abused but left her to fight it out herself). I could have accepted him leaving if it had been to save Mer.Who did Ari shoot? Why did he tell Niko to take her and run and then he was all like “yeah we need to go do stuff with the ghost people” why did everyone think he was dead but Niko had disappeared. What happened between Ma and old Ghost for her just to accept her boys needed to go.Mer being abused but was playing happy with Luca. Didn’t get this tbh. And her saying he’d take her business - that’s weak.Luca’s dad being creepy - big deal made of this. But nothing really came of that or him?Mer’s mum coming in at the end - felt like this was kinda pointless mixed in with the two big bad mafia families. And they couldn’t get to her?Too many plots that just made me think - what the hell. If woulda been better to stick with one or two and really delve deeper into them.I hated that Mer just accepted Niko coming back into her life after 10yrs and then 2yrs and she’s just like “cool. No problem”She never did explain to niko that she wasn’t part responsible for the crimes of Luca and his dad. Yet Niko was willing to have sex with her thinking she was responsible for the rape and sacrifice of babies.Cee-cee - what was she actually reporting back to niko?Dark but too fuzzy.

Five twisted Stars
Oh. My. Fudging. Antichrist. Amo Jones, why? Why do I consciously choose to read your books again and again when I know you are going to break me over and over yet again? The answer is simple, you are a genius to the highest level. You know exactly what to write and how to write it. Bravo!!Nik/Antichrist and Meraki are DEFINITELY not your traditional Heroes and heroines, even for a dark romance. They are toxic, darker than dark, and maybe slightly psychologically skewed. This book will rip you apart, leave you for dead, erroneously throw you back together only to rip you apart yet again…slowly and painfully! The beginning was hit or miss for me. There were some timeline issues/jumps that made me feel slightly disconnected from the story, which made Amo’s writing style slightly different. However, the further you read the more it grabbed you and very quickly engulfed you in toxicity and demented pleasure all while carrying you along until you hit that ending. WTF do I say about that ending, except holy crap, you are good Amo Jones, you are good. There are trigger warnings, many triggers, but for me, I wished I didn’t read them, because I was anticipating what would come next. I do not want to ruin your experience, so I will just tell you that dark can be done badly, or dark can be done so well that it will leave your rotten little heart happy. You will be confused and look for logic between the covers, but don’t, because you won’t find it. What you will find is Ms. Jones doing what she does best, messing with your mind and heart, while questioning if your soul is intact.

lost for words- wow
Antichrist, what can I say?? This book had me on the edge of the seat from the first sentence. The highs and lows of emotions and the way Amo Jones brings you in and spits you out after. It’s a dark read, so read the fine print at the beginning. Don’t say you weren’t warned. But if you’ve read Amo books before then you know what to expect.I fell for Niko and I don’t know if I should, but I did. He cut his way into my soul and never left. I felt for Mer in places where she was hurting and didn’t know where to go or how to talk her feelings. As she is a strong ass person, but strong people need support right?? But this isn’t a support group book.I just loved this book so much. But I want to know what happens next…… Amo??

Amazing read as always
This has been my most anticipated read of the last 12 months and as usual the Queen did not disappoint! The teasers had me on edge for months, but they were NOTHING compared to the chemistry between Nikolai and Meraki that I was sure was going to make my kindle self-combust! I am an absolute sucker for a Twin Flame story laden with convoluted history and emotions that are so closely intertwined there's no way to untangle them. This is a dark read, please check the TW and go in with your eyes (and mind) open!I immediately felt a connection to Meraki, in true Queen style this is Meraki's story and she dominates the narrative as much as she does the minds, desires and motives of everyone she comes into contact with. She makes the hard decisions but carries them with grace and sass on her stiletto heels.Nikolai...what can we say about Niko apart from, yes please? He commands everything he sees throughout the entire book - including me! Alpha best friend to MC President and everything in between with a mouth full of sin and a body to back up his words. It was such a pleasure to experience Amo flex her thriller skills in this dark, dark romance, at times it felt like being on a rollercoaster without being fastened in - but what's life without a little peril? If you're a fan of the dark, and enjoy a story that keeps you guessing this should be your next read - don't even apologise to your TBR; it'll understand!
