After being on three different antibiotics for a stubborn staph infection, I was recommended manuka honey by a wound care specialist. We tried the Theriac Manuka Honey Ointment brand first, but it was half the size and not economical in comparison. Manuka honey has been used for wound healing for centuries. If the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese used this honey for burns, wound healing, pain relief, and anti-suppurative (anti-pus) properties, we figured it must be a valid healing agent. This honey was even used by the military in World War I and II for similar purposes. 🩹Our family incurs infections from time to time and is dealing with some boils due to staphylococcus aureus. One of Manuka honey’s key actions is antimicrobial activity, meaning that Manuka honey essential disables bacteria that may be living on the surface or inside a wound. The high sugar content of Manuka honey pulls water out of cells and can dehydrate and kill harmful pathogens. The natural wax content keeps the good body fluid in, and outside contaminated out. Manuka honey also contains two key antimicrobial ingredients: methylglyoxal and hydrogen peroxide which further enhances its healing properties. Be mindful though, all OTC remedies only treat the skin surface, it does not disable bacteria like staph below the skin layers. Bactroban Ointment 2% or generic Mupirocin is required for effective remedy, along with possibly Doxycycline for advanced cases. 🧴We used Manuka Honey on the boils and it initiated the process of coagulating (clotting) followed by inflammation then proliferation and remodeling. Boils can destroy layers of skin, but Manuka honey has been shown to stimulate granulation and epithelialization, which basically means the formation of new healthy skin. It is shown to be more efficacious for wound healing than colloidal silver. The honey did reduce the boil swelling and pus drainage, leading to fewer symptoms and quick recovery. We did later find by testing that Terrasil is slightly more effective in the case of boils. ⛑️We also used daily overnight application of Manuka honey which improved lesions of atopic dermatitis after just one week by one family member. This honey can also be used for the treatment of folliculitis decalvans (a type of alopecia), psoriasis, chapped lips, and other skin conditions. While one member is allergic to bacterial ointments, they could use this product with great success.Overall, we can definitely confirm this product is effective! 👍

I am diabetic and have a wound issue. Doctor suggested to buy this & apply very little only on open wound. I have seen in 3 days good results of faster healing. Would highly recommend.. I also bought bandages of Honey Manuka medical grade but they haven’t arrived yet .

U spend a good amount of money and tubes are not even half full good product but not worth paying for half tube
