The material gets hot in the full sun as do the bars holding the material. The arms do not get hot. Chair is sturdy and you can put a towel on it so you will not feel the heat.

I purchased two of these after throwing out the heavy metal loungers that had paint peeling. These are great because they are lightweight and easy to fold and store. My wife likes to sit outside and read on one of these and she says they are really comfortable.

Used these chairs in Mexico for 2 months, ocean front and it gets very humid and they never rusted
