Q: Will this work with metal clothes line or only rope?

Check the diameter of the metal clothes line...this fits 1/8" to 5/16".Metal clothesline will stain your clothes if the outer cover layer develops a break and exposes the metal core. Cotton line will not.

Q: Where is this priduct maufactured..

I'm not sure but I bought them in July of 2017 and they have survived the weather very well. I tightened the line a few days ago and they were not rusted. They did what they were supposed to do. I have no regrets about buying them. You can spray some WD 40 on them and that helps to keep the bearings lose. Thanks

Yes it is. Even with a pulley and loop line you will need to attach both ends of the rope. Google an example. You can probably see an image and how it works. You dont have to have this piece but if you want your line tight and the ability to tighten as the line is stretched over the years i would attach this to you clothesline. All you do if it starts to sag is pull rope tigher through this tightener.

Q: How many for 5 clothes lines ? Is it 1 per line?

Yes. At one end of each line. Anchor the other end.
