Plenty of power for an outhouse with 4 inch vent pipe.
Worked wonders for our out house. When the first one failed after 16 months they sent us another one.

Great little solar fan
Purchased to help eliminate heat in large shed. Vented through side initially, however this fan requires full direct Sun to work, so it only worked intermittently. Remounted with ducting so it faces straight up, and now it works almost all day long eliminating the heat. Not sure how much air it moves, but it’s enough for a large shed.

Does not work in ambient light, no shade at all.
This solar fan works great but requires DIRECT sunlight to spin. If you have trees, it simply will not spin even if the sun is right behind the tree in the middle of the day. The solar plate cannot be obfuscated by any shade whatsoever. Its a great product, you just have to have it in direct sunlight. I was not going to trash the merchandise with a one star rating because it didn't work for me, this is just info you need to know before buying.

Weak and barely operational on most days
Works well in full sun only. Any haze or partial cloudy days, even wispy clouds and the vent stops working. Has no battery back up for when clouds pass over. As we have as many days with clouds, even part of the time, and non-operational at night, I think I'll put it in the outhouse vice on it.

The Good and The Bad
First - This is a novel device and the premise is a good one: a solar powered vent fan that fit nicely in a 4" thin wall PVC vent pipe. Mine arrived on-time and did not exhibit any of the defects others reported. However, when it arrived a couple of hours before dusk, I unboxed it and tried it out. It did not work at all. I tested it again the next day, a day with full sun and not a cloud to be seen, and it worked when the solar panel was aimed directly at the sun. When aiming it away from the mid-day sun, the fan immediately slowed down significantly.I returned mine because it would likely only run for a few hours and the air flow was so minimal that I deemed it ineffective. I had hopes that it would do better, much better.

Good deal
Purchased two of these for waste vents on my house roof. I was getting a sewer smell in the laundry area, checked no clogged vent pipes. House is 55 yrs old so a bit of smell is to be expected. These apply a gentle negative pressure, the fan is about the size of a computer rear fan. Since using these there has been a lot less smell or none at all. I had to get an adapter at Homedepot to downsize the pipe diameter.

Not a great device
This piece is solid and I’m unable to take solar panel off on one end and put it on other end to get air flow coming in instead of blowing air out. This isn’t what I was looking for.

Just WORKS!
This is exactly as stated on the web site. It works perfectly with almost NO installation time or tools and best of all it when the sun is up, it just works. No complications.
