O3309X - Forty Progressive Etudes for Trumpet Book/CD

It's a good book with good lessons, but I wish it came with an actual CD instead of a download for the tracks for the price.

The "Hering 40" is essential trumpet literature for 7th to 9th grade trumpet player with reason being highest written note is G above staff. Best practiced with a metronome, these etudes develop lyrical as well as technical trumpet skills. I have seen some of these etudes show up on audition requirements. As a veteran trumpet player. the latter etudes are really fun to go back and play. This book is a must for the developing trumpet player and private instructors must incorporate this into teaching objectives.

This book is used by local teacher for trumpet lessons. They've been using it for years. It's great to see young musicians playing it, and then see older people who play it too for the same lessons. Perfect teaching tool.

Good build up from easy to more difficult. CD great help with self study

Good Etude book. Studies start easy, so as to allow the student to concentrate of rhythm and tone developement. Good to use with the Arban Complete.

My daughter's teacher, who is highly regarded, recommended this book so it must be good. It is a classic text.
