After 8 Years I Finally Retire this Pack
I have owned this pack for 8 years and I can saw it has held up through just about everything.Since I've owned this pack I've changed laptops 3 times this pack helped me carry all of them with ease and comfort. I had no idea I owned it for this long and I am going to miss the special stacked design of pocketed levels. It genuinely has been a joy to use this pack.I've been in the hunt for a new pack as I travel more for work and am sad that Ivar is no longer innovating in the ways it once did. They really had something special with this pack and for someone who doesn't write many reviews I must say this felt like the perfect send off for this pack.Thank you ivar for the past 8 years of carrying some of the items I hold most closely to me.

Little bit of a let down
REVELProduct DetailsPRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS20 H x 13.5 W x 8 D / 2,000 cu in. / 2.2 LbsLAPTOP PROTECTIONCarries up to a 17" laptop safely. When I found these packs and read the reviews I thought, "Finally the best of both worlds a back saving pack that will hold all my stuff!" Unfortunately, This is a business day-pack at best meant for a net book, tablet and possibly the daily paper. It is definitely not good for a university student on public transit. At five classes a semester I've already had to institute some super organization in order to save my body the stress of the physical weight of my classes. The fact this bag doesn't hold that bare minimum is an extreme disappointment. I have had to go back to the old bone crusher because the Revel I purchased barely holds my laptop, ONE note book, pencils, planner, charger and various post-its and note cards. It is definitely not have a 2000 cu in. capacity, I would hazard to say its only half that. My old pack was 2000 cu in. and it holds almost 3 times what this pack does. Its a pain to zip up because the bag has an odd narrow spot at its middle. It was also hard to access things in the bag without dragging half the contents out. I have a 15 in laptop and it barely fit in the laptop pocket despite the claim the bag is meant to hold a 17 in. laptop. I couldn't get anything in the bag properly with out forcing the laptop flap down over my laptop so that the Velcro could meet and hold allowing the rest of the bag to open up proper to take my notebook. I gave the pack an honest 7 weeks of use before transitioning back to my old bag. super disappointed as I had high hopes for the shelves and back saving.

Beware! Misleading description and photos
I am a bit miffed. The photos and description show this pack with a "lumbar" strap (aka waist strap). I just receive the pack today and it does NOT have this waist strap. Given that I am using this as a commuter pack where I sometimes need to run through tight crowds or ride my bicycle, missing this strap makes this pack MUCH less useful. Sometimes you need the stability that a waist strap afford. Please update the photos and description, Amazon/Ivar. Not cool. Totally not cool.I have written a blog that reviews packs in this class if you are interested. I have gone into more detail about this pack in the associated blog post - I have many positive things to say about this pack, too.Copy and paste this url into your browser if you are interested (don't worry, it's not a link to spy ware...):http://daypackfinder.blogspot.comGood luck in your search for the perfect daypack!

Great Quality
Nice quality! Lives up to its claims to be the most comfortable backpack. Weight gets distributed taking pressure off the lower back making it easier to carry more stuff.

Great purchase for our college aged young lady
Great purchase for our college aged young lady. It is ergonomically well balanced and she can carry all her college books with good posture.

Highly recommended.
I bought this used off craigslist and despite the visual wear and tear, the bag is still as sturdy as I imagine it was new.I lent it to a friend for about six months, and in the meantime I definitely noticed that my old backpack (Jansport, everything-sinks-to-the-bottom-style) was actually uncomfortable to wear with a moderate amount of weight, especially when biking. When I got the Ivar back, I enjoyed a noticeable and appreciated difference in comfort. Highly recommended.

There is NO lumbar strap on this backpack!
First off, I have arthritis in my back. My physiatrist highly recommended that I get a backpack with a lumbar strap. I also have a friend that very highly recommend this particular brand, because it is well made, has a lumbar strap, and is very comfortable. I just received this in the mail, and I am very disappointed that it does NOT have a lumbar strap as pictured. I am upset because this is something that I really need, and now I have to send it back, not knowing what to choose. Not a happy camper….

Not big enough
The Ivar backpack could not fit all that my daughter usually carries for highschool: 2-3 books, 2-3 notebooks, and a 3 ring binder, in addition to her pencil case and calculator. Just her binder and books alone made the backpack difficult to zip closed. I wanted this backpack to work for her, but unfortunately, it did not.
