Gill Race Cap - 50+ UV Sun Protection

Even if you are not a fisherman, this hat is a great choice. It dries quickly. Is lightweight. Looks good even after being jammed into your luggage. And my favorite feature is the ability to pinch the hat's attached connector to your shirt or jacket... so if the wind catches it you will still be connected to your hat. This feature is great for boating or high altitudes where high winds will come out nowhere and take a way your hat. I have 2 of this same model so that I always have one around.

Good looking hat. Some of the reviews say it's not adjustable, this is not true. There is a ~2" piece of velcro inside the seam of the hat that allows for some adjustability. It's a little tough to get to, but the capability is there. Only complaint might be the plastic clip, we'll see how that holds up over time.

My husband and I both LOVE this hat. It is light-weight, breathable, has a nice sized bill for blocking sun and looks pretty sharp! The reason for 4 stars is that the clip is not so good. It's plastic and the clipping mechanism is not intuitive. My husband's broke on the second use, but we were able to get a replacement and he has had no problems since.

I'm a bowman with a shaved head, so I need a hat that can protect me from the sun while staying on in weather. The Gill cap does both. The built in lanyard and clip stayed on during 20+ knots of breeze and kept my scalp from burning. I'd prefer the Gill name/logo appeared on the front but I get they're leaving it blank for crews to personalize with their boat name/logo or company name. It's also quite comfortable and won't make your head throb after it's been on all day.

Lightweight, drys fast, doesn’t fall apart like a baseball cap does after being soaked. It looks good, maybe it does sort of look like a confederate soldiers cap, but it looks good on me despite it. I’ve worn mine all summer, every day. I get it soaked in bay water and lake water, it’ll smell and then I wash it and it doesn’t smell anymore when it dries in a couple hours.

This is a replacement gill hat for one I left on a Navy ship. First one was great but purchased in 2012 or so and had been over the side more than once. I like this new one as well however the clip is different and can be difficult to attach to a shirt or jacket with one hand. The old hat had a spring loaded clip that was easier to use. All in all I like it and it has become my new favorite.

The hat fits great but the clip that is supposed to attach to your sheet so it won't blow away came in broke. I was hoping to use it on a trip to the islands.

This is my go-to when sailing. Dries quickly and is very breathable and light weight. Rugged construction, should last a long time. Some complain about the clasp but I personally haven’t had an issue, seems sturdy and has held so far!
