Awesome seatbelt bag passes the boss's boss test
I wrote my original review, below, on February 19, 2011, and it is now late December 2014. I use one purse exclusively and the bag looks almost the same! The purple satin interior wore like iron. The zipper occasionally separates at one end but the bag was worth the money. Remember, though, the laptop size is heavy.(2011 Review) I get so many compliments on my seatbelt bag. I thought the price was all right for what I got, because it is really, really solid. This one is sized for a laptop and has a permanent, padded divider to protect a laptop and separate it from other cargo. The adjustable strap is secure and, being a seatbelt, adequately wide. The inside is covered with a lovely - and fairly substantial - purple satin (I don't know if it is literally satin, but that is what comes to mind). The top zips completely shut and the bag holds its shape. For all its utility, it is a stylish and polished bag for the office - many items that are labeled "executive" really shouldn't be, but it passes my "boss's boss" test - that is, could my boss's boss, if a woman, carry it to work and still look like the boss's boss. This is important to me because I generally own one bag at a time, so whether I'm going to the market in sweats or interviewing in a suit, the black one is rugged enough to dress down and solid and polished enough to dress up. Know that the laptop-sized seatbelt bag is VERY HEAVY - if you don't need the extra bulk to protect a laptop, I strongly suggest getting the next size down because such a heavy bag can become uncomfortable quickly. If I were to ask for additional design features, it would be an additional small pocket in the interior (the interior does contain a couple of pockets) and perhaps a ring to anchor a keychain or office ID lanyard, since the bag is so wide and deep. Having said that, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it for anyone for whom the weight of the bag is not a problem.
