Tasty and Versatile
If you think you’ll never get through a case of Artichoke bottoms, you’ll be surprised. These are so handy. You get the best part of the Artichoke without all the mess and work. I use them in spinach/tortellini soup, salads, sandwiches and pasta. If I want a little snack, heat them up and add lemon and Parmesan. They’re that good on their own. I do rinse them thoroughly due to the salt. You will get one that needs a trim now and then. Overall, you will not miss that chewy, tough part that you get with marinated hearts or fresh Artichokes. A staple in my pantry.

Trust the Negative Reviews. Absolutely HORRIBLE
First can opened last week: same review as "Jeanne". Too tough to chew; only tastes like citric acid; no artichoke flavor to be had. Second can opened today: 100% MUSH. Like WTH? Gross! Third can: same as the first. It should be illegal to sell these to human beings. What a waste of $50! Had I purchased these from a physical store, I would have been a total Karen about it. Don't risk it. In fact, it seems like the other 2 brands offered here have the same issues. Better to just cook your own whole artichokes when they're in season (because who doesn't love boiling a pot of water for an hour in 90+ degree weather?) and be sad during off-season. Ugh

Love these!
I had a favorite restaurant supply store that used to sell these. I have been unable to find them anywhere! Then looked on amazon and found these. They arrived in a timely manner, intact, well packed and not dented. I used a can on a salad I made for some friends and they RAVED about them! I will definitely be buying them again when I am low on supply!

Very Good Product, but 3 of 12 cans in the case had dents
The artichoke bottoms are very good. The price was very reasonable. My only complaint is that 3 of the 12 cans in the full case we purchased had dents in them. How do you get dents on individual cans in a full case? When I am shopping in a grocery store, I will not purchase dented cans.

The best part of the artichoke
I love the flavor & texture of the artichoke hearts. I use them to make an artichoke-spinach dip to put on crackers. The BEST!

Easy Artichokes
Bottoms are the best part of the artichoke. With fresh artichokes you have to go to a lot of trouble to get rid of the choke and the leaves. These are ready to go. Just drain the liquid from the can - heat and serve - or use them right out of the can without heating. I like them sprinkled with onion powder and a little salad dressing. I use a home made dressing of lemon juice, dried mustard and agave syrup. One review complained that the artichokes were woody. On occasion, I have found a little woodiness in one or two out of the whole can. It is easy to cut that part out. The woodiness is a fairly rare problem. If you like artichokes but hate the work and mess of preparation - this is for you.

As bad as other reviews say.
I've had another brand and the artichokes were super tender and flavorful. This brand, tough at best and needs trimming at worst. Not much flavor - missing a lot of the nutty richness.

Not what they used to be
I remember getting this product at my local store many years ago, but since the local stores stopped carrying this I've missed the artichoke bottoms. I tried to adjust to eating artichoke hearts, but they are tough and I feel as if I'm trying to eat large popcorn hulls.I decided to order these artichoke bottoms with the hopes that they would be as good as I remembered them to be when I was able to buy them local. Much to my disappointment these are very much flavored with the citric acid they are packed in. My first can I made the mistake of warming them in the liquid they came in - they were awful! The second can I drained and used some butter to saute them - they were a little better but still tasted of the citric acid that they are packed in. Maybe I'll try warming/cooking them in plain water to see if I can get the citric acid flavor out of them and get the actual artichoke flavor to come through.
