I understand the utility of a Sharp knife, but as I get older, my hands are less able to handle extensive knife sharpening. I bought this because of the reviews and the price. Once it got here I went on a sharpening binge. I sharpened every single knife in my knife drawer in less than an hour. Beautiful edges, sharp enough to cut paper. Don't throw away your old knives, get this instead it is easy to use and will extend the life of your knives.

I used it on my cheap knives to get to know it's "personality" before moving on to the good ones. Gotta say, for the price I'm pleased with the results. Index finger pressure and constant contact through the draw does the trick after only a minute. Seems to give knives a micro-seration which is fine with me for non-surgery. They draw through the tomato skin just with the weight of the knife now. Shoulda videotaped the before and after. But the best advice is I'm glad I did this in the garage near the shop vac. First use and a dozen knives left me with a about 2 tablespoons worth of very fine dust of metal and stone spread over a square foot I'm glad isn't in the kitchen.

This is a great knife sharpener for the price. It does what I need it to do. It is a bit rough of the blades but does include the fine ceramic bars for smoothing out the blade. I feel as though the bars dull down the initial sharpening though but this may be to my inexperience with that aspect of the sharpener. The grinding wheels will sharpen your knife within a minute but it does take a little bit of practice to get it perfect. I would suggest getting a cheap knife to practice with before putting your nice knives through the grinder. It does come with some instructions on how to operate the sharpener.

I work with a lot of other people who have to keep their work knife sharp. Everyone has their own device they use to keep their blade sharp, but hands down the best one was this electric unit. It was good to fix my dull knife and keep it sharp so I had bought my own. I have used it on several of my knives at home to restore their former glory.

The sharpening stone is uneven. One side is fairly smooth while the other side is out of round and causes the blade to bounce about even though it's one stone. The edge is what you would expect from a medium stone which requires a fair amount of time on the ceramic V manual sharpener to tame. The unit bogs down easily as the motor is fairly weak. It also sounds as if it's full of pebbles while not obnoxiously loud it is not quiet. It works great for a needed quick edge on hunting or bush craft knife but I wouldn't use for your fine cutlery. It also leaves a good amount of stone dust around the unit. Oh and a 12v car adapter included would be nice.

It worked ok for the first couple knives. It is very coarse, so it makes a rough edge quickly. After that, the sharpening wheels degraded quickly. They disintegrated to the point that they barely touched the blade. This also left a mess of dust from the wheels. This happened the first day from sharpening six or seven knives.

This is a terrific buy that you should not pass up. It easily sharpens both chinese stainless steel knives and high carbon steel. It is also nice not having to always turn it on to sharpen sharp knives using the ceramic rods. I have also had the Presto knife sharpener and it didn't sharpen well and the motor stopped if little pressure was applied. This one you actually have to put ssome strength in it to stop it. By by far this is the best, easiest, and durable knife sharpener I have owned. Overall if you want a sharpener that is great all around and getss the job done, then don't pass this one up.

I've sharpened every knife I have! I love it. So user friendly and works so well. Preparing dinner is a snap when you have sharp knives! Would definitely purchase this product again.

Its a budget electric knife sharpener, that slowly sharpens my knives to a decent edge.If you own expensive knives, I'd NOT use this sharpener. Buy a better quality unit.Its not great at keeping the blade a the best angle. Stalls if you use any pressure. So it takes many more passes to get an edge. and the rotating stones seem to be a bit wobbly. For me, its better than a manual Pull sharpener or a Stone, but next time, I'd spend more for a better quality unit.
