I have loved this series for many years and hope the author will eventually write more. She was one of the first cozy mystery writers I read, and each book pulled me into Goldy’s life. The characters are real and easy to relate to. In this cookbook Mott-Davidson breaks down the recipes formerly found in her books and makes them look easy!

I began reading the Goldy series many years ago. I introduced the series to my mother, who loved it and is someone who seldom reads fiction, and I introduced it to my grandmother and her friends. This was very important because my grandmother shared my love of reading and I would spend long weekends in the country in a small town off the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay reading. One summer out of college, I was determined to cook from scratch, recipes from Ms. Davidson's series. I was reading Killer Pancake I believe at the time and so I made chicken stock from scratch which was required for another recipe. I was living in a rented bungalow next to my Gran's house. I had no a/c but a fan that drew the heat out of the kitchen. What I didn't know was it blew the aroma of the cooking of chicken stock, ginger snaps, chocolate cookies and curry out onto the cove.A knock at the door and my Gran sitting at my table and she informed me that, " that's a lot of food you're cooking up for just you and me. You know you're going to have to share that with the locals (thankfully it was still a fairly small annual crowd in our neighborhood)." She explained how the aroma floated over to the Colonel's wife who called Ms. S who called her and asked when Robin was delivering dinner. We chuckled and she further explained that the Colonel's wife felt obliged to tell me that they now made chicken stock in a can and that she would be expecting the chocolate desert to be included in the plate.Thank you, Ms. Davidson for many joyful memories that came from the delight of reading your series!As a former responder to abuse survivors, I am especially proud to have purchased your books and look forward to using your cookbook! If you are expecting a cookbook with the compilation of all Goodies recipes from the book series, don't get this. It is not that at all. Although there are some in this cookbook, most are recipes that are not in the book series. It was not what I was expecting.

It's so nice to learn the background or origin of the recipes from her Goldy books. And to have all the recipes in one book is helpful.

I have read this entire series and I hope you continue writing Goldy. I have even made a few of the recipes. Your books are a perfect combination of well written stories mixed with delicious recipes. The plots keep me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Thank you!

Recipes from the romance novels, except all on one place. If you read the books this is a must.

Delightful. I read a preview segment and was sold! I just had to have this book. Ms. Davidson includes autobiographical information, as well as comments about the recipes, which makes this more than a cookbook. It is an interesting and fun read. There are no photographs, just text, but that is not a problem for us hard-core Goldy Schultz fans. Even though I have all 17 of the novels, which contain all of Goldy's recipes, it's nice to have them organized by category in one big book. It is my understanding that a few of the recipes from the novels were omitted in the cookbook, while others, not in the novels, were added. Regardless of any omissions or additions, this is a very nice cookbook, full of delicious recipes and personal anecdotes.
