I ordered this cable because I read so many great reviews. Our smart tv broke so we've been ...
Edit: after posting my 1 star review i was quickly contacted by the company and they offered to send a new one immediately. I received the replacement quickly and it works great. I was hopeful it was bum luck and it was. I've connected my galaxy s8+ as well as my son's tablet to each of our tv's and i was very pleased with how well it worked. Stuff happens, sometimes you get something home and it doesn't work out but I was super impressed with how quick they were to amend the issue with zero hassle. Definitely recommend.I ordered this cable because I read so many great reviews. Our smart tv broke so we've been carting the laptop to different rooms to hook it up to the tv's(so all of our tv's definitely work with HDMI). I have a galaxy s8 and was really excited to find a reasonably priced usb to HDMI to make things more convenient. It arrived quickly and the packaging was in great shape however I've tried to use it on 2 tv's and nothing happens. My tv eventually shut off because it wasn't even recognizing any input. Very bummed out was looking forward to using this.

Did not work for what I need it to do
Im sure it would have worked great for someone else. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I have a MBP 2018 and LG Ultrafine 5k monitor. My work laptop is an HP Elitebook 840 G6. The original Thunderbolt 3 cable that came with the monitor works perfect with my MBP. Connects right away. I needed something similar to work for my work laptop on the same monitor. Since the USBC outlet on the HP Laptop is only 2.0 for standard charge, I thought the original Thunderbolt 3 cable that came with the monitor would not work. So I was searching high and low for USBC 3.1 going from the monitor into HDMI on the laptop. This cable was suppose to be it and worked for me. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. This is due to the fact that the USBC 3.1 is NOT the same as a Thuderbolt 3. It wasn't until I consulted with an Apple Specialist that they told me I needed Thunderbole 3 to make it work with the HP laptop and my LG monitor. They told me to look for anything with a thunderbolt symbol on it. That's how you tell. Coming back onto this product, it simply did not work for me because it did not have the capacity. So, I ended up getting it to work when I randomly (not sure why I did not do it earlier and eliminate the hassle for myself) plug in the original cable from the monitor, the Thunderbolt 3, into the USBC outlet on my HP Laptop that it worked. Not sure how it works when the USBC outlet is only a 2.0, but I guess Thunderbolt 3 did the trick.

Did not work with Dell monitors and Surface Dock!
I purchased these to connect my 2 Dell monitors to my surface dock, this did not work out very well! The screens would flicker, randomly go off (to a black screen) and then they began jumping off and on and I couldn’t get into the screen to view or shut down what I had opened. I had remembered reading in some other reviews for other types cables about how the different type ends on the cords will work on some monitors, computers & iPhones but different ones work better for certain types and theres no rhyme or reason. I had already went back and exchanged one of the monitors thinking something was wrong with it, brought the new one home and it was actually worse. After scratching my head and narrowing it down to these cords I had already purchased or it being the surface dock I decided to look around for different cords and took a chance on those (since they cost less than the dock). Low and behold I got the new ones yesterday, hooked them up and everything worked perfect! The monitors stay on, no flickering, going black or just shutting down! These cords may work for certain or some types of electronics but it is surely not a one size fits all thing. If you have issues with any cords I highly recommend trying a different brand before you start returning (or throwing out) your equipment! Hope this helps someone else. Unfortunately by the time I figured this out I had missed the return window for this item. Lesson learned and I’m just happy it’s all finally working!

Excellent Cable! I'm Very satisfied with how well it works!
Starting off with Durability, It isn't a Braided Cable but it seems pretty durable. the Ends of the cable dont feel they will wear anytime and both ends of work great! the cable does as expected I've plugged it into several devices and all of them work great! sometimes the image could be bigger than what it puts out but other then that it works well! Its been really nice for my use. Sharing info off my phone to a screen is really great in group settings. One time i had it plugged into the T.V. and an adult Tripped on the Cable ripping it out of the HDMI port. surprisingly both the port and the cable were fine and it continues to work great! so they are decently durable. I would recommend to buy. I use it with my samsung Galaxy s8+

Cheap cable, does not consistantly connect (See Update)
I bought a mac book pro in December for my work computer with a hyperdrive, a hdmi cable and this usb-c to HDMI adapter as I work with dual external monitors. Sometimes the cable would pass the signal through to the display and sometimes it wouldn’t. I tried everything to troubleshoot as the computer recognized the cable, but nothing showed up on the screen. I bought a new usb-c to hdmi cable and it works everytime i plug it in. It was not the computer and not the monitor but the cable. I returned the cable less than a month later. I got $0.41 for my trouble. Obviously, I an a more than a little upset at the ridiculousness of this. They might as well have kept the pennies. What a joke!Update:Originally, I had set the review as a 1 star for the above reasons. I have changed my rating and am updating this review because they reached out to me and offered a full refund.
