Popped like a balloon
I recently let my rear tire go underinflated and it slipped around and tore the valve stem off. But I had already ordered new tires and they were on the way. So I got a pair of Bell inner tubes and used one on the rear and it lasted 2 days before it slowed out. But in a couple days Amazon delivered a pair of Kendas. The new tires arrived unexpectedly as well but I am expecting some specialty tubes Monday. I decided to replace both tubes. My old front tube was a brand I had forgotten. I took it out and it is a Goodyear. I set it aside. The Bell tubes are obvious junk with bad looking welded seams. The Kenda had neat seams and the Goodyear appeared seamless. As I took the old Bell off I could smell the fishy air that smells on the inside of the tube but not the out. One Kenda went on and I took it to full pressure for my weight. 60 psi. I think that's 420 kilopascals. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Okay. Then I was doing the other when at 50 psi (350 kilopascals) when POW! It popped like a balloon. Monday I'll try the specialty Tac Thorn inner tubes and report on them but for now, if you want an inexpensive, easily available, good inner tube: Don't buy Bell. Don't buy Kenda.
