Braaitime - Droewors, South African Dried Beef Sausage - Spicy Peri Peri, 16oz

Second bite into one of these meat sticks and I nearly chipped a tooth on a large bone fragment. Unacceptable! I spit it out and stupidly I took another bite, theses are not spicy and are bland in flavor. On the 4th and final bite I came across yet another bone fragment. That was that, I contacted Amazon for a refund and I got it. Do Not Buy!!!

I've been ordering for years, loved it! However my last order was a piece of garbage item like a slim jim in little pieces and filled with bones. I am throwing the rest away. Not edible. What are you guys doing I've spent hundreds of dollars buying your biltong for over 5 years.

This is not traditional dried South Frican sausage. Horrible texture, with a kind of slim jim influence. Terribly disappointed. One bag was not sealed properly.

There are other brands of droewors and many that will claim to be more authentic, but this is the only one that captures both the flavor and texture of droewors as I remember it. It has the snap, the tiny bite, the non waxy texture ( looking at another brand whose droewors were like eating candles).I eat only the peri peri. I do not find them spicy but they are South African, they are not intended to be spicy, but titillating. Just a tingle on your tongue with the coriander. I have to get my family to hide these and ration them out. There is absolutely nothing in America that I can substitute!

Absolutely addicting. I love both the spicy and non-spicy versions. The only problem I have is how expensive they are for how many you get, and how quickly I go through them!! So much better than beef jerky (these aren't greasy in any way, and they're softer). I also wish they did a deal if you do auto-ship rather than one-time purchase. Obviously they're so good I don't mind repeating my order, but definitely not at a weekly rate!

This was gross. It did remind me of the 4 months I was in Africa, because everything that I put in my mouth I always had to ask myself...Is going make me explode on the toilet?This must be off, this is rancid?This is not supposed to taste like that, frack is that a bug that made that crunch?!I the vinegar taste was off putting. I love salt and vinegar chips and mex chorizo. FYIThe QUALITY was very good, that is why I gave it 2 stars. The meat seemed like it was good quality, not like the stuff you get in Puerto Rico. Well stuffed natural casings.
