disappointed this is a cliffhanger
Anna is betrothed to her best friend, but not her love, the emperor of the cloud city of Cirrus. When her wedding and coronation ends in chaos, she finds out that she’s destined to save her people. Enter Malcolm, the Watcher who has guarded over her ancestors for a millennium. Anna finds in Malcolm her soulmate, but he’s unwilling to accept the connection he feels as well, because of the love and dedication he still has to Anna’s long-dead ancestor Lilly. Anna and Malcolm embark on a mission for her to fulfill her destiny, while she endeavors to convince Malcolm to open his heart.I felt a little lost because I haven’t read the preceding series. There were characters and situations referred to that I feel were probably from those books, and that if I had read them I would have a better understood what was occurring in this one. I’m still not 100% certain what a Watcher is. The story takes place 1000 years in the future. It’s odd though, because in some ways, things like technologies have evolved like you would expect after ten centuries, but there were many other things that just remained too similar to the way they are today. There were also some inconsistencies. For example, at one point, Anna and another character use a device that will thwart any bugging attempts in a room of her home and allow them to speak freely, but then on other occasions, in other places in the house, conversations about sensitive matters are held without any fear that someone might be listening.I was frustrated that the book ended in a cliffhanger, because it was so unnecessary. The book could have ended several paragraphs earlier and wrapped up the story of this book - Anna trying to win over Malcolm - but still left enough of the main story arc to bring the reader back for the next book. The love story is a little silly. Malcolm is ridiculous in not accepting that Anna is his soul mate. Sure, he loved before, but that person had her own soulmate, and all of the signs and feelings are there with Anna. Anna is equally ridiculous in loving him; she’s just turned twenty-one and she’s been sheltered all her life, but she’s the one who is sure that they belong together. On top of everything, her world has turned upside down in a matter of days, and despite Watchers, princes of Hell, and her connection to these things being completely new to her, she accepts all of the crazy while barely batting an eye.I’m curious enough to see where this all goes to read the next book, but I might need to read the other series first so I have a better foundation for all of this.

Great book in a new series
This is the first book in a series about one of my favorite people from s.j. wests watcher trilogy Malcolm. This the story of Malcolm and his soul mate Anna. Malcolm has stayed on earth a thousand years to do the job he was asked to do by Lily before she died take care of Caitlyns descendants until the girl that was prophesied about could be born. When Anna was born she was sent up into the cloud city and her marriage to the crown Prince was arranged. Anna wants nothing more when she grows up than to fall in love. Yes she is engaged to the Prince but he has became her best friend and she could never fail in love with him. He tells her not to worry because he has faith that she will find him.A few days before her wedding she realizes that her fiance has been killed by some kind of imposter and he orders her death while fighting for her life she's injured and suddenly Malcolm is in her house and she is shocked by him because when she looks at him she falls head over heels in love with him.Unfortunately Malcolm seems to despise her and she's not sure of anything that is happening in her life anymore when she learns that the man who has been raising her isn't her father and that she comes from a long line of angels who have been waiting for her birth so she can defeat the prince's of hell. She's forced to continue with her wedding and get married to what she now knows is a prince of hell so she can become princess to have power in her country and help the poor people which is something her and her fiance always wanted to do .As soon as the wedding is over Malcolm and the other surviving guardians rescue her and flee to the down world which is full of poor people who are forced to work and give most of everything they make to the king and queen.Fleeing from her crazy husband who now knows who she really is her and Malcolm travel through the country and retrieve malcolms adopted son and try to over throw her husband all the while Anna tries to get Malcolm to admit that he loves her and understand why he doesn't like her. Will Anna succeed in convincing Malcolm they belong together or will Malcolm finally push her too far and force her to walk away once and for all?

I love this series and cannot wait for more!!!
Unfreaking believable ending! Where is book 2 & 3 and 4 ......love this series!A few months back, I was searching for something different to read because I didn't want to read the same old YA Romance stories. I needed a different genre so I tried out SJ West's Watchers Trilogy. Well, I found out there was more series that continued and so I read "The Watchers Chronicles" which consisted 4 books in that series. I was surprised that there were actually more that continued with the previous characters and found "Devoted & Timeless Dulogy". Guess what? I was so psyched that Malcolm had been in all those books and he was finally getting his own series that would be set 1000 yrs later than the first books.I read Malcolm in one setting and I am still in love with this series. Malcolm was my very character and admired how much his love was so devoted to Lilly from the Watchers Series books and throughout the years. In this book, Malcolm is his usual self which is always Hot, Humorous & very Feisty. I fell in love with Anna's character and could see how much of her linage was in her. I was very surprised to find out who her real biological father was so that was unexpected.I felt the emotional pull of heartbreak between Malcolm and Anna, whom one was fighting to win one another's devotion and love while the other one was pushing away and denying that it could never happen. Of course, we have a huge cliffhanger so I cannot wait for Anna's book next. I fell in love with Lucas so I cannot wait for more of that little adorable boy in the next book. After this series and you and want more of Sandra's books, try out her "Harvester Trilogy" which is an Apocalyptic Romance series with action and thrills. I loved it just as much!

Fab!
As much as I love these books, I was a little dubious as to how well S.J would pull off the 'future' but she did it! Very different to what I expected, but having the loveable characters that she does, it make sense.

Malcolm
I loved this book and love the character that is Malcolm. Again the author has gotten to the very soul of the main character in the story and its as if you are there living what's happening. I love the way she writes.

A Series Worth Sticking With
Another good read in this series of books. So far none have been boring. Characters stay true to themselves. Good. Already looking forward to the next.

Wow
Wasn’t sure what I was expecting from this book. It came as a recommendation and the blurb had me intrigued. I was hesitant when I started to read the story but found that I quickly fell in love with Anna, Andre and Auggie are totally devoted to her and would do anything for her. But as the story progresses life isn’t what it first seems to be and things start to happen and not for the good. And just when things start to look up it all goes to hell.I’m glad that I took a chance on this book and I’m looking forward to reading more of this series.
