It worked!! Yayy!
► I'm in a good position to review this product now after actually using it with my elderly mum. She is petite with really long hair (waist length). Mum has been reluctant to wash her own hair because of her age and dementia and I'd been looking for an at-home solution. ► I gave this product a go because of their claims of superior materials as well as adjustable collar. ► Long story short - it worked! I just finished shampooing and conditioning mum's hair and she was completely relaxed and fully dry. ►My setup: I don't have any fancy equipment. I placed an ordinary dining chair in the bathroom with its back against the bathtub. I propped a little stepping stool for mum to place her little feet on. I also wrapped a large bath towel all around her to cover her back and neck completely. ► I asked mum to slide as far down as possible on the chair so that she could lean her head way back. This kept her neck from straining and kept her comfortable and relaxed. ► The hair wash tray's strap went around her neck over a cushy layer of the bath towel. I did NOT wrap it around her chin like the booklet suggested. ► The experience: ► I first inflated the tray with a balloon pump. But I had to mouth-blow the last few bits of air to keep it nice and shapely. ► Washing mum's hair using this tray was a doddle. The water flowed beautifully straight into the bathtub. My mixer shower gave her a very comfortable experience. ► After washing, I immediately removed the tray from around her neck and used the same bath towel to wrap her hair in. ► I checked her nape and back and she was completely dry. ► I hung up the tray on a clothes airer to dry. I will deflate and pack it away for next use. ► Recommendations - ► Don't worry about flipping the collar this way and that too much ... it's not an exact science ...the collar will sit how it wants to sit. So ignore the instructions. ► DO wrap a towel around the patient. ► Would I recommend it? Absolutely 100%. ► I could not find a mobile hair stylist who would come and wash mum's long hair -- too unreliable, cancelling at the last moment. ► Mum was also reluctant to go to a salon. ► So this product is definitely worth it in my experience. ► How can the product be improved? ► I think the designers need to take some more time thinking about how the strap should work ... the whole "flip the collar up" instructions are fuzzy and faffy. ► Also a QR code linking to a video on how to use the product would really help customers. ► All in all, a positive experience and one that will give people like myself more confidence in their ability to take care of their elderly parents when needed.

Fantastic product.
I recently broke my ankle and cannot shower because of it. I bought this while still in hospital so that when I got home I could sit at the sink while getting my hair washed. It is so easy to use, just blow it up, put round the back of the neck and pull the strap over at the front which attaches securely with Velcro. This is a fantastic item, I did not get wet at all and the water rinsing soap from my hair ran down it into the sink like it should. I am so glad I bought this item, and would highly recommend it for anyone like myself injured or even for the disabled/elderly. I know it certainly would’ve come in handy for my gran, god rest her soul.

Probably great for some, didn't quite work for me
While I get the idea of this, I just couldn't get along with it. The instructions tell you to make sure that the plastic on the neck is up to make a seal, the only issue is the moment I had the neck seal up, the rest of the basin bent so the water would just fall off the sides, and the moment I made the edges come back up on the basin, the neck seal angled down instead of up. It was easy enough to blow up, and I didn't find any air leakage at all. It's also just as quick to deflate, so you can put it away as soon as you are done with it. My problem is that I can only sit on a stool and I wanted wash my hair over the bath where I could still use the shower head which isn't on the longest pipe. I think the fact that it was floating is where I was having a lot of the issues. As I have already sai,d I get the idea, it just didn't work for me, though I will do a little more practice to see how it goes.

Great but not wright for us
Great idea but didn't work for Mum, so will have to find another way to help Mum wash her hair when health doesn't allow for salon trips.

Worked surprisingly well...
To be honest, I was a bit dubious about buying this and was fairly sure it was going to be a waste of money, but it actually worked very well. When you are not able to take a shower or bend forwards over a sink for a few weeks following surgery, your unwashed hair begins to feel manky and head itchy. This hair washing tray blew up easily, attached around the neck well with velcro, and with a bit of trial and error, sat very well in the sink, meaning cups of water could be sloshed over the hair to wet, shampoo and rinse relatively easily. It won't be needed for many weeks, but it is reasonably priced, and makes a huge difference to wellbeing when your hair is clean and fresh.

Good
Very practical, the chin strap could be a little longer otherwise it does the job.
