I taste tested dozens of salts and this is the best finishing salt out there!
I have about a dozen different salts (maybe more)From smoked, to lavender (perfect with my roast chicken with peaches dish) to french grey to Hawaiian red to pandan and a heap of flavored salts I have made myself (Kaffir lime, lemon and mint etc) but this is by far my favorite unflavored finishing salt.Murray River pink salt flakes can be easily crunched up in your hand. unlike Maldon (which is very hard and sharp) and other large crystal salts and even better, Murray River salt actually has flavor!Wondering if I really needed all these salts (I admit to having a bit of a spice and seasoning obsession) I decided to do a taste test of all of them (which started out kinda fun but quickly turned into a bit of a chore, as you can imagine)I discovered that out of all my salts, Murray Pink had the most flavor. And by flavor I mean umami. It actually seems to have a light undercurrent of an almost tamari/soy sauce profile. I’m tempted to say a tiny hint of Vegemite because it IS Australian salt after all, but vegemite has an extreme salty, yeasty, soy sauce flavor that I know that many non-Australians do not enjoy, but rest assured this salt has a light savory flavor that you might not notice unless you do what I did and actually taste a wide variety of salts in one sitting - but trust me, this salt is superior to every other salt I have. The umami undertone will bring out the flavors of any dish with subtlety. In addition, it is not TOO salty. Unlike my french grey or my Maldon, you can use more and enjoy the flaky crunch without fear of oversalting your food to get that crunch. On the contrary - you may find yourself going through this by the bucketload while every other finishing salt languishes in your cabinet!I still use a very fine sea salt for some dishes, and reach for my kosher diamond crystal salt for cooking, and some dishes just need a smoked salt (it's a key component in my hamburgers) and I love my herbal salts on produce but for unflavored finishing salt I reach for my Murray River Pink Salt. I love that I can easily crush it between my fingers so I can control the size of the flakes for various purposes.Buy this, and if you dare - do a taste test. I really think you will find it is superior in flavor to all other finishing salts. Plus it’s pretty and crunchy. My favorite salt! This is a great finishing salt, I have purchased as a gift for friends and turned them into salt snobs. This pack is a great amount for your money. Give it a try.

Lower sodium too!!!
We love to cook (and eat!), and have learned a lot about salts over the past few years. We have different salts for different applications, but this is my favorite by far. The texture is flaky and crunchy, the taste is delicious and enhances everything we use it for, and it contains less sodium so it's good for us too. I've gifted it to a couple of chefs I know and they're sold. Love it ❤️

~Excellent Finishing Salt!
Let it be clear that I'm not a chef, a nutritionist, or an expert in my review. Just a plain person who enjoys and appreciates good eats.****Update - I purchased this from Nature's Natural on Amazon and this seller is fantastic! Fast shipping, and he actually communicates well with us - his customers. He truly wants us to be happy with his product. Great job!Branched out to find a different style of salt to use for 'finishing' a plated dish of food. Table salt gets boring. Now most folks would say, who cares?, it's just salt. But as I get older, my palate screams for tasty in its simplest form. Salt, when used just right, has a certain property that will make my food taste even better. For example, a tiny, light sprinkling of salt flakes on a hot, chocolate chip cookie makes that cookie taste wonderful. Using a smoked salt on a juicy steak is marvelous. Oh don't forget the salted caramels. Yum!So what makes this salt so special? It's the flakes. It's as if someone carefully shaved a salt block to make these beautiful, thin, delicate slivers of salt that looks fluffy rather than dry. When I read how and and where this salt is made, I was surprised. This is natures salt which takes a long time to develop. The taste is not super salty in the sense of table salt salty, it's smooth, the flakes are fluffy, and it's delicately crunchy. And the salt looks really nice when dusted on the finished food. I love THIS salt! :>}In the week or so since I've received and used this salt in my kitchen, I give Murray River salt flakes a 10 out of 10. Hope this Australian salt is always offered at Amazon!P.S. The flake size is perfect. Not too big and not like dust.

Soft Finishing Salt
Ordered as a replacement for my William Sonoma pink finishing salt. These are nice sized, soft textured flakes that melt into meat. Very similar to the WS quality, if not better. Love using this as a finishing salt and also to add to my coffee. The salt flavor is mild, so I don't think you could over salt anything using it. Large box will last a long time. A nice find.

Smashed again
Great product, but I'm done with it. Use your head Amazon! Put it in a box! No problem with the company just a problem with shipping by Amazon. Envelope= smashed box, bag popped, Salt in envelope, again. Sorry for the one star Murray River Salt, great product, might want to talk to the people you let ship your product (Amazon).

Great pink flake salt
I just keep reordering this salt. I started using it as a finishing salt but find myself adding it to more and more things. Nice sized flakes. I sometimes crush them a little with my fingers if I was a smaller texture. I keep it stored in a glass container for easy access.
