Not for outdoor use: cord is not UV / outdoor
After a year, the cord insulation is so brittle that it cracked in two places, shorted out, and broke today. It's not even is a full sun location (I can't grow grass there). I use it in a koi pond to run a small filter. In the winter I remove the hose and just let it squirt straight up to keep surface from freezing. This week it is very cold here (single digits) and I decided to add a small heater (bucket heater for pond / horse drinking bin). When I handled it, the cord snapped at the plug end. Thinking it had more to do with the plug than the cable, I took it inside to fix by adding a plug. When I went to test it, I saw other breaks in the insulation and a few mm of exposed wire. Needless to say, i am not using it now. Luckily I had a spare pump, so my pond will not freeze over. This one worked well up until now. Probably OK for indoor applications. For outdoor applications it is crap. Dangerous crap.

Claims to run at 25W but mine runs at 60W
I bought this solely because of its claimed low power consumption of 25W and to my dismay, I plugged it into my meter, it began pumping and did so consuming 1/2 A, 60W. More than DOUBLE what it claimed

Worth the cost but larger than expected
Great pump with plenty of power however; it's footprint is larger than I anticipated. It took awhile to situate it in my smallish outdoor fountain. A smaller pump would have been more appropriate for my application. Thankfully it has a flow adjustment as at full setting it shot water a foot into the air. I dialed it back to a little less than half and got a nice 4 to 5 inch stream. I gave it five stars but be aware that the power cord is NOT 16 awg 3 prong ground.

A little large in size.
I bought this as a replacement for a fountain pump that quit working. It works well but is considerably larger in size and is a bit difficult to get into the opening. Once in place, it now is difficult to reach the dial to adjust the flow. That being said, it does a very good job.

Need one for water change
Wanted a pump for water change for long time, the reason I choose this one because it's able to attatch different size of hose on it and able for water and sump purpose. Fulfilled my need.

No filter, flimsy feeling, and it won't fill a solo cup through a 3/4 inch tube from a foot away. Get a Simple Deluxe for less money.

Fountain Pump
Pump is a little over powered for my fountain but it works acceptably. We will see how long it lasts. They all seem to work for a while.
