Front pockets too shallow. Button holes tight.
PROS:* 2" bigger than tape measure, which matches Dickies, but is smaller than Wrangler and Old Navy.* Decent stitching (double-stitch seams).* Thigh pocket size is good for big phones.CONS:* Front pockets are 3" deep. My keys don't stay in when I sit.* Tight button holes* Buttons, not snapsSnaps would be best. Velcro is okay. Buttons are inconvenient. This is visible in the web, so it was expected. The button holes are tight, so even with big buttons, they are hard to close while moving. The front pockets go to my second knuckle. Proper pocket liners should be twice as deep, and should be slightly deeper towards centerline.Otherwise, good shorts. They are bigger than tape measure, but not hugely so. Standard US vanity sizing.I've a 36" inseam and these touch the middle of my knee. Fabric is thin and light, but still strong. Double-stitched seams are strong too.

Sturdy construction but not as loose and baggy as other shorts for active wear
I ordered these shorts for active wear, for walking, hiking and other activities based on reviews from others suggesting they would be baggy and therefore provide good room for movement. They are well made in that they are a nice thick cotton material and have a sturdy construction. However, I always buy a 36 inch waist in pants to allow for good room for movement, and in shorts made by Wrangler and other pants this works well for hiking and bicycling and paddling, but these pants are tighter in the crotch area for a guy, so that for sitting in a kayak or canoe, you need to make some adjustments. Also the pockets are not deep, so putting keys in them, or even change, the items do not sit deep and so they ride higher and rub your thighs as you walk. I really debated between giving these 3 or four stars. They are sturdy and a nice heavy weight cotton, but compared to numerous pairs of other active shorts I own by Wrangler or some other companies they are definitely not as loose fitting for movement and even for sitting.

Great shorts!
My husband loves these shorts. He is 6'2" and they hit his knees. I bought 3 more pairs after his 1st pair. They are not bulky cargo shorts. The pockets collapse when I fold them(I fold them like slacks get folded). The pockets are large enough for a smartphone without being obscene. Material seems to be decent and so far the colors have stayed rich.

When does 34 not = 34 not = 34? Apparently too tough a question for One Tough Brand - Tough to Wear!
When does 34 not = 34 not = 34? Apparently too tough a question for One Tough Brand - Tough to Wear!I ordered two of these, size 34, as I had previously purchased the same a year prior. The two pairs received were both 34's, but they were NOT the same size. One was very tight and one was only slightly tight! Further, neither of them were the same size as the pair I have which are 34's and have always fit fine!?!?!?!?BUT since they were so cheap, and I paid for shipping, there's no point in returning them for $3.40 each, since I won't get the shipping back. That's the caveat emptor when you pay for shipping / go non-prime. That's a sunk cost, no matter what.Too bad, I really liked the 1st pair. Since I'm now stuck with these, I'll try moving the button and making them work.Note - you may have to cut the extra zipper fabric out as well, as it hits right in the vas deferens.

Not what i expected
I have a 36inch waist and other shorts fit perfectly in 36 but these short's are a little smaller for a 36 inch waist. I received them in the mail yesterday and say's slim fit on the tag and there was no mention of it in the descriptions before I ordered them and the pockets are not even deep ( Probably can get 1/4 to 1/2 of you're hand in the pockets ). My brother has a 34 inch waist and the 36 inch I got fits him perfectly. So if anyone who will order these short's may have to go up a size in the waist unless you are built like a toothpick.

I'm going to be getting another pair or two
A lot of people had different reports on size fitting, but I found these to fit perfect. My only complaint as others point out is that the front pockets are too shallow. I'm not having anything fall out, but I don't like how things sit in the pocket. This was why the 4-star rating.

Fits very nicely, stylish, and comfortable
I bought five extra pairs because these were so comfortable and fit very nicely. I like my shorts to go slightly pass the knee and these did that without being too big around the waist. They fit exactly how i wanted them to. Although the pockets seem kind of small, my phone which is rather large seems to slip out when i'm sitting. I wish they were bigger but i understand that is being too picky.

For a brand that is labeled "One Tough Brand" I was a little disappointed. Immediately noticed that one of my pairs had the closure button falling off and and had to break out my sewing kit to reconnect it. Also, both pairs of these shorts I received had belt loops too small for anything but the flimsy fabric belt that the shorts come with which I toss to the side in preference for either my rigger belt or leather, concealed carry belt. Also, the slash pockets are FAR to shallow for anything but keys and pocket change. Your smartphone will have to go into a cargo pocket, or stick out of the pocket by an inch and a half. Lastly, the fly is ridiculously short. Using a urinal while wearing these may take extra time...no exaggeration. As far as the construction in general-aside from the closure button on the one pair-they seem fairly well put together, with no noticeable flaws.
