Works with ThinkPad, but not through dock.. don't know why.
I bought this adapter to plug in an old IBM 32P5000 PS/2 keyboard into a Lenovo ThinkPad Mini Dock series 3 (433710U) with a T410 running Ubuntu MATE. It was cheap, and took ages to come in the mail. I have not tried to use it with a PS/2 mouse. On plugging the keyboard into any of the docks USB 2.0 ports, the indicator LEDs blink once, and then nothing. It does not work in any port, whether plugged in before or after boot.. nothing. However, upon plugging the adapter into any of the ports on the Laptop itself, the keyboard works flawlessly. It works during boot, in bios mode, and hotswaps ports with no problems at all.The only problem I have with this is that it defeats the purpose of having a docking station in the first place if I have to plug in my keyboard. It's not much hassle really, but it is the precise hassle that the dock is designed to avoid. It's entire purpose is to be a port replicator so that peripherals can remain plugged in at the desk allowing everything to connect to the laptop at once through a single plug. I have no Idea why this adapter, which works flawlessly when plugged into my ThinkPad is completely useless when plugged into the docking station. I don't like it. I rated it 2 stars, even though it is working fine and cost me less than 2 bucks, because it simply failed at the one and only task I required of it.

Great Buy
My six month old cheapo HP keyboard died and I couldn't see buying another one when I had a quality 15 year old Gateway keyboard sitting here. I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews but decided for less than $3 it was worth the risk. I've been using it for over three months now. Everything works and I haven't had any problems. For this price it's a no brainer. This is an update. The cable worked great for about four months until we had the first big thunderstorm of the year. The computor is on a surge protector and everything made it through fine except for the keyboard which stopped working. After trying other known good keyboards with no luck, I got another cable and that fixed the problem. I'm downgrading my rating because it seems to be the weak link but still is well worth the price. Next storm I'll be unplugging the surge protector.

The best USB OTG I have found
I searched everywhere for a USB OTG cable for my Nexus 7. I'm glad I finally found the perfect one. This one is great because, unlike some other on-the-go cables, it has a straight end (not elbowed or 90 degrees). I hooked it up with a Patriot 8GB flash drive, and a 32GB one, in combination with the Nexus Media Importer app, and it recognized it immediately. I also used an Apple USB to Ethernet adapter, and that works just with plug-n-play. I was getting about 4MB/s over Ethernet on the Nexus 7. The only issue (and I think it is an issue with the Nexus hardware not officially supporting USB OTG) is that if you unplug the USB OTG cable with the screen is off, it essentially freezes your device and you have to hold power and volume up for about 10 seconds to do a hard reset. So, now that I know that, I just won't unplug it with the screen off, problem solved. The cable quality is excellent. I feel like it will last a while, and that is great. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Kinda works, with some crippling issues. Customer service poor
I purchased this to use my Dell Quietkey with my desktop which has no PS/2 port. I have not tested a PS/2 mouse. The converter picks up all of the key presses but does not work with persistence. For example, if you are switching between tabs with Ctrl + page-up, the converter will drop the Ctrl press after the first page-up. This happens similarly when using more than one key to move in a game, such as a FPS where you'll be moving forward, press right to strafe, and then the keyboard will drop the forward movement even though you remain pressing the key.The key repeat is also odd, as there will be a double delay before the fast-repeat picks up. This is problematic when using arrow keys, backspace, or delete.I contacted Syba thinking perhaps I got a "fake", but after a few e-mails that never went anywhere (CR rep couldn't provide USB product or vendor id tags) they stopped communication. The adapter looks nearly identical to pictured but has some very minor differences. There are no markings suggesting it hasn't been re-branded, but I don't believe Syba marks their product. If you're buying this to use for any gaming or programming applications I suggest looking into another brand, primarily one with good notes from geekhack's list (google geekhack ps2 to usb). I found this list after buying, unfortunately...

Works surprisingly well
It was really nice to buy something that worked as stated right off the bat.I had no problem at all getting a PS/2 touchpad pointing device to work with this, so I'm happy. The only minor gig I have on this is that the cables twist within the Y-connector in the middle of the cable instead of being fixed in place, something that I can see eventually causing the smaller wires within the connector to snap. However, I don't think that will happen much with normal use on a desktop computer, although it could possibly be cause for concern for a laptop user, but I'm only making an educated guess about that.

Jus the ticket
The new computers come with the more 'shallow' laptop keyboards leaving me in quite a spot until I found this item as I DO NOT TYPE WELL on those. Even a thorough search of keyboards did not land me a new keyboard with deeper set keys. This device gave me back my 'regular' keyboard from my prior computer. In retrospect I realize I could have ordered the PS/2 with only the keyboard connector vs the one with both the keyboard and the mouse connector (oh, well). Thank you soooo much!

It works!!
I wasn't too sure about this product because the price of the USB - PS/2 adapters ranges from $2 to $20 when I looked into buying one. The shipment arrived on time and the adapter worked like a charm. I had observed a slight delay in detecting my PS/2 keyboard when I powered on my laptop with a docking station. But it happened once only and I have no trouble ever since.

works, but quite pricey
So it does what was asked of it, however it was quite pricey for what it was. So convenient but not great quality over what could have come slower and far cheaper.

Works great with older model keyboard and mouse
I have this old multi-media keyboard and mouse (PS/2) that came with my very first media station computer. This is the best keyboard I've ever owned and I had no intentions of retiring when I got my new "usb-only" computer. This particular model of PS/2 adapter has some special circuitry that enables old style keyboards and mice to work with modern USB connections. There are other cheaper/simpler models of PS/2 adapters that I've tried that did not work with my keyboard and mouse.

Works great for the first 2 years
Slow to arrive but works with no problem whatsoever.Edited almost 3 years after purchase: With daily use, after 2 years this item started to get "fussy", needing to be tweaked in its slot in order to connect. At 2.5 year mark, it is almost unusable. I need another & will look for something more durable.
