My cat needed to be confined for 2 weeks after biopsies so I bought this and another pen by a different brand so we could see which best suited. Once I got the hang of setting it up it was fast - really well designed. There is breathable mesh at the front and it is a good size. There was plenty of room for his litter tray and food and water. The material reminded me of a tent. The other pen by a different brand pen I bought stank of plastic - it was never used and still smells weeks later despite being aired to try dissipate the smell - so it’s important to flag the Ownpets pen had NO strong smell when opened, much better for you and your pet. As my cat was used to sleeping on my bed he would not settle the first night so I got in the cage with him and cuddled him - there was enough room for that, although I am not tall, only 5 ft 2 inches. I could sit upright but had to slump a bit as the cage is designed for going in (large) cars so I could not keep my head straight upright. The zip at the top was not in a position that worked for me but hardly surprising as not meant for thr owner to get in there. An extra 3-5 inches height would have been good but I appreciate the cage was not made with the idea of the owner joining their pet. I ordered a second of this pen so that I could put them back to back and have room to make up a bed in there. Family members could then crawl in the cage and cuddle him which kept him calm. We ended up keeping him in the pen for 3 weeks and taking turns being in there with him - felt a bit like camping! Slept in there (left a small gap in the zip so could reach out and let myself out). This pen was a real life saver at a very difficult time for us all. Thankfully tests showed my cat’s condition could be managed by diet (for anyone reading the review and wondering how he is). I know the crate wasn’t designed for owners to get into but having lived in it for 3 weeks I can confirm it is strong and stable. If you accidentally knock one of the supports out of alignment the tent does NOT collapse on you, and it’s easily remedied by snapping the support back into place.

Great travel crate! We needed to replace our large metal crate with an extra large one for our 6 month old Labrador who is growing to be a big boy! That meant that we could no longer fit his crate in our car when we went away so I started to look for something suitable. I spent a long time looking for something that would be big enough yet small bough when collapsed to put in the boot or roof box and eventually settled on this one. My pup loves it! He hasn’t tried to destroy it at all (although that could be because he is already used to being in a metal crate) and slept in it very comfortably. It is easy to put up and collapse, feels sturdy, is easy to move around but the best thing is the size and weight of the collapsed crate. I agree with one of the other reviews that the seller does not make enough of this - the pictures made it look as though it folded flat like the metal ones but in fact it folds into a carry bag, much like the travel cots we used to use when the kids were younger. We put his old crate mattress in on top of the included fleece mat just for extra thickness and this fits into the bag with the folded crate easily. It fit very easily into our roof box and can be stored in the loft out of the way. I don’t know what the strap with clip on is or what the hole in one side is - perhaps to attach it to something? The pocket in the top and side are large and useful for keeping the bag in so it doesn’t get lost and toys, accessories etc. Great buy - very happy!!

Very easy to assemble, just as described.. perfect for my Dalmatian got the X-LARGE. Great to take away with us staying in a holiday cabin - home from home for him, he can roam in and out as he likes plenty of room for him and his toys

I've only used this once so far, but it was very easy to use, it doesn't come with instructions but I quickly figured out that you need to pull to setup, and then pull and twist to fold it back down, and only takes seconds to do. The travel bag is fantastic, there's no need to fold the crate a special way it just fits perfectly in. It feels very sturdy except for the doorway covers which I imagine a dog could rip up if they wanted to, which is why it's a portable crate and not mean to replace normal crates. It does the job well, the only reason I took off a star is that I bought the XL based on the fact the images showed this would be suitable for large breeds, but my 7month old German Shepherd (a few inches away from his full adult size) has to duck his head to go in the crate, so as he gets to full size I'm not sure how comfortable he would be getting in to this.

So far so good, very easy to put up and folds down pretty small for the size of the carafe when up. Our dog is perfectly happy in there so would definitely recommend. Just hope it lasts a decent length of time now 🤞

Was great to start with but after a few uses of putting it up and down the clips to fold it down stop working. It is very difficult to put down. It now does not even stay up any more

Sturdy and easy to put up and down, looks cute and is a good design. It packs down to a handy travel size which fits in the car well. Overall works great.

Great size and easy to put up and down . Bought for 4 month lab and he managed to wreck it in about 2 months 😔 really light and would recommend for an older dog that doesn’t chew ! Easy to get in and out of the car and easy to store as collapsible
