Big disappointment in quality
I bought this Mouse Trap game with several other well known games for our 8 young grandchildren. It is such a big disappointment as it is poorly made. Though it is bright in color and eye appeal, every time we try to play the game we experience problems of it not working smoothly in all sections of the game so the game never yet has happened. Every time we try, we give up disappointed. The base that supports all of the pieces to work, is poorly made. Don't buy!!

Great updated game
This was a replacement for an older version of the game sure to pieces in the old game breaking with use over time. There are some nice upgrades here.< Less pieces to put together, better flow, more ease of resetting for the next turn.< A catapult, how fun! Though maybe a little tedious to reset🤔, but the old hand was too.< No crank to constantly fall apart< Only requires one metal "ball", not two< Only 1 die, vs 2 dice before< Less pieces of cheese than our older game< Slightly different game play/rules< Bigger mice/playing pieces/cheese slicesOverall I like this version better. My 4 year old grandson loves this game, both versions, though he is only interested in the mechanics of it, watching it all run, not playing the actual game. So, one piece of advice. If the catapult throws the ball off to the side, instead of into the gutter to the tub, make sure all the pieces are actually fit into all the slots of the gameboard as intended. If even one little corner is not, it'll probably throw the ball off.

Just like I remembered - sturdy & works great!
I bought this for my son (4 going on 5) for Christmas. He instantly loved it, as did his brother. They've played with it a ton, and really enjoy the game! They are both able to reset the contraption fairly easily. The cage is touchy, which is annoying if you accidentally bump it during game play. But, that is by design, so no reason to take a star off for that.I wish everything broke down a bit smaller, but we were able to fit it back in the box without taking every single piece back apart for storage. I think this will be a family favorite game for quite some time, just like it was when I was a kid!Note - I bought this version over the "anniversary" version also available on Amazon during Christmas 2021 based on some reviews noting quality issues with the anniversary version. I can't speak to that, but this one works great!

Classic game with some drawbacks
My kiddo has been begging for this game for ages. She had "games"on her Christmas list from Santa and he ended up bringing her this one. She is 7 and I assumed she could set this up on her own but she did need a bit of help from me, mostly because she was trying to work too quickly without really building the game in order.Once it was all built we had to do quite a few test rounds because once the marble was kicked out of the bucket and then supposed to arrive at the end of the ramp and go into another bucket, it would miss the bucket every time. We had been playing the game on an ottoman, so we put it on a flatter surface and this seemed to help about 75% of the time...its still annoying when it doesn't make it into the bucket but we can't figure out why.It takes a while to setup the game and then of course you have to break it all down after to put it into the box, so it's a bit of a time investment. It's cute and I'm sure it'll get lost of play.

I child wish fulfilled as an adult
I Wanted this as a kid so bad!! so my parents buy it for me on a thrift store (big mistake as you should guess it was incomplete) as a kid my heart broke when i realized i wasn't able to play... so now as an adult who still love board games i bought it for me i play with my nieces and nephews (the 3y/o really love it and I love to see him get exited about the game and play with me, he already know how to count and follows the rules better than expected). I dont exactly remember sturdiness when I was a kid but i think quality now is really good is a headache build it up and tear it a part when you are done, and have be really careful with all the pieces but but you'll have a great time playing with your family.

Poor packaging
I loved this game as a child and my 4 year old loves it too. However, this particular product had multiple issues.1. The box it comes in opens on the side (not a bottom and lid) which makes putting the game away in the original box nearly impossible.2. The plastic used for this particular item is not very sturdy and doesn’t always stay in place on the board, requiring manipulation by a person to make the actual “trap” aspect of the game appear to function.3. Again, with the storage problem, there are so many pieces and no organized way to store all of them. They game secured in the box with tape and other single use material all for the outward presentation of the game box. Not something that can be replicated. It wasn’t a bad price and is a game kids love, but minor changes to the packaging would make huge improvements.

Definitely recommend
This is a super cute game. 5years old and up. 2-4 people can play. Its a foldable cardboard base like other games and comes with set up instructions. My 5year can take it apart and reassemble the hole game himself now so its easy. Its an obstacle corse you play around the board with your mouse game pieces. Its a really cute idea. Easy enough idea..roll dice, move player piece according and the player who wins six pieces of cheese and gets back to the start first wins. If you don’t have six pieces of cheese you keep playing and going around the board until you do. Glad we got it. Its a laugh.
