About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Integrity, Authenticity, Performance How did you come up with the idea for this product? In 2014, I was looking for an organic hair product that performed like the non-organic ones I had been accustomed to. I went to multiple stores and didn’t find any options, so I decided to do my research and create my own. My formula and process got better with each batch. One day, after feeling like I had created something that worked, I gave a few tins to my friends and family. Their overwhelmingly positive reaction inspired me to try making other products. A year later, I formed Seattle Pomade Co. to share the results. What makes your product special? Every Seattle Pomade Co. item is crafted with my consumer and myself in mind. I would never release products I would not use myself. I personally temper each batch using only the finest organic raw materials, which results in the highest quality products. My customers can feel assured they're getting my very best, each and every time. What has been the best part of your startup experience? I first began selling Seattle Pomade Co. products at local street fairs and markets in Seattle, Washington. I had gone into this hoping for a few sales, or at least some brand recognition. To my surprise, I was blown away by how receptive people were. They loved the performance, the fragrance, and the story behind it. Many of my first customers are repeat customers to this day. Those experiences really pushed me to keep going and were quintessential in making the company what it is today.
