I told corn syrup goodbye and haven't looked back
I buy this brand regularly when I can't get it local. I use it mostly for coffee, some cooking and occasionally on biscuits or toast. Some like it on pancakes but I prefer Maple Syrup if I have it available. What this is: PURE SORGHUM SYRUP - A simple syrup made from the juice of the stalks of the Sorghum plant. The only refining is the cooking out of the moisture. The grain of the Sorghum plant is used to make a flour and is sometimes added to chicken feed. It is a stronger flavor than many are use to due to its mineral content. What this is NOT:- Molasses (a syrup from the left overs of refined sugar),- Black Strap Molasses (the left overs from the left overs that can have a "burnt" taste - because it's burnt),- High Fructose Corn Syrup (a highly refined syrup that gives "ME" migraines - I have other choice names for it but I don't what this post deleted),- Maple Syrup - made from the sap of Norther Maple trees. After 30 years I finally discovered that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) was my migraine trigger. After eliminating it from my diet (which wasn't easy at first) I am 5+ years migraine and medication free! I'm post middle aged, but not yet joining AARP. Migraine meds never did anything for me but make me loopy, and I'm already loopy enough. Now I only drink soft drinks and eat ice cream made with CANE SUGAR. I use REAL Maple Syrup on pancakes, Honey in tea and PURE SORGHUM SYRUP for my coffee, biscuits, oatmeal and such. I found that I can control my sweet tooth better now (although donuts are still my kryptonite) and eat and drink smaller portions of sweets now.Lets be clear: NO SWEETENER IS GOOD FOR YOU. But sorghum will kill you a lot slower than most. Hmmm... I don't think this is what they had in mind for a recommendation, but I do buy a jug of this every three months along with Maple Syrup and Honey. These opinions, experiences and results are my own and needless to say, do not reflect the management of this station. Consult you doctor for health advice. Consult you accountant for tax advice. Consult an attorney for legal advice. Consult a politician or tik tok or bad advice. Consult the Book for Proverbs and all the verses in the Bible written in red for moral advice (I'm serious about that part). I'm not a doctor, I just pretend to be one on the internet. Your mileage may vary. So why are you still reading this? The useful part of this review was in the first paragraph. Now you're just reading the ramblings of a guy with a time-change hangover. But corn syrup is evil.

Best Sorghum???
Soni have read the reviews. Respectfully honored others opinion and outlook on the product. Good and Bad. I received my order today. I received the correct size and volume as advertised. I tasted the Muddy Pond Sorghum Syrup today, both straight and on Grands Butter Biscuits, and have come to one final conclusion; You CANNOT get better Sorghum Syrup than this. Now before you counter this statement, understand this. I'm sure you can find Farmer Joe in the Mountains of North Carolina, ride the Hollers of Kentucky, hit the Flats of Missouri, it even the backwoods of Arkansas, or cruise through the iron ore hills of Sweet Home Alabama, and get Sorghum of equal caliber or just down right delicious for that matter. But there isn't a such as better than this. PERIOD.To get Sorghum like Muddy Pond, you would have to follow the principles and techniques that Mudddy Pond does. That simple. See I can almost guarantee you 80% of the people you know that makes this stuff cooks it down in a large pan, fueled by fire or gas, skim off the top and boil it down to the Syrup and drain it out the bottom to holding tank, them bottle. Sounds about right?Well see that's part of the problem. Just in the drain gathering mething grom the bottom of the pan alone in it self is going to give you problems with purity in the end product. The methods of extraction and the principles followed by Muddy Pond ensure the Purity is 100% and the most BEAUTIFUL color you have ever seen. Hold it up to the light in a jar and you see a beautiful amber color. But when you put it on your plate, it has this almost flouresant glow to it that is unmistakable.Bottom line is this is Sorghum Syrup at its finest. Purest Form! Grab a half gallon like I did and you will not regret it! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.P.S. Thank Muddy Pond!!!!

Good product.
Think it is a little pricey but really has a great flavor. Crystallizes if you don't use it fast enough. Does respond to microwave though.

Brings back memories...
My father used to like sorghum syrup, and he would share it with us over buttered biscuits and I like it over oatmeal also. This syrup brings back fond childhood memories to me. Love it!

Only One Slight Complaint
The only thing I don't like about this sorghum is that it has a slightly more "sulfuric" taste than that we were getting locally. It isn't overpowering, but to me is noticeable. Tastes a little like sorghum MOLASSES, which is NOT sorghum. But on the plus side, the Muddy Pond mixes easier into peanut butter, which is how we eat it. We mix peanut butter and sorghum and spread it onto hot biscuits or toast. Yum! Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. I may buy Muddy Pond again if I can't find the local product I had been getting for years.

Childhood memories
I remember when I was young and mamma would make her homemade biscuits, and there would be a bowl of sorghum and butter on the table, it was heaven, when I got this Sorghum it's PURE SORGHUM, just like mamma had so glad I found it, had to make those homemade biscuits mammas recipe of course right away and get them into that sorghum and take a bite, wow, I was back to my childhood days. Had to introduce my husband to this and now he likes Sorghum too.
