Works well on my spaniel, and I like that it is cordless. That makes maneuvering it around her body much easier than my old corded one.

I ordered this because I saw how well my daughter's cheaper pair of grooming clippers worked on her Cocker Spaniel. She was able to whiz through grooming. My dog's coat isn't as thick as the cocker's so I thought these Wahl "professional" ones would be exceptional. And I liked the idea of being able to replace the blades. However, comparing both clippers on my dog (I borrowed hers to use also), hers did a better job, the battery seemed to last longer, and the trim looked much more even. At a price difference of $20 I should have ordered the cheaper pair. More expensive does not always mean better.

I was concerned on its first charge that the light on the handle didn't light up (or go off). I went ahead and used it, and it's performance is quite good. However, when the battery ran down it wouldn't charge at all. I fiddled with the electric plug which has a slide-on adapter like you get on cheap voltage converters for overseas travel. Then it appeared to charge. No joy, no light. It ran for about 30 seconds then died. And now won't charge at all. I missed the return window and contacted the seller who instructed me to call Wahl's 800 number for warranty claim. I really like the clippers and will probably go buy at a local beauty supply so I can return if necessary.

Very sharp out of the box, have done 1 trim so far on a fury 15 lb. Boston Shitzu mix. They worked great, got a little warm around 1/2 hour in but I was done at that point. Check them often, they will eventually get hot enough to hurt your animal, just don't push it, the trimmers do have a limit. I'm very happy so far!! I would buy them again.
