I realize this was a grated product.But it was total powder.Like that awful pink salt.Was I suppose to sprinkle it on food like ranch flavoring?

I discovered bottarga on a recent trip to Italy and when I got back home, I was thrilled to find out that it was produced right here in my home state. The quality of Gulf Coast Caviar's Bottarga is top-notch. I actually like it better than the Sicilian-produced one that I tried. It's a perfect gift for a foodie friend because nobody I've mentioned it to or served it to has ever heard of it before. Once you try it, you'll be hooked. Love to grate it on top of pasta with some lemon zest, garlic and olive oil. It doesn't taste like fish at all. If I had to characterize the flavor I'd say it tastes like the sea. If you want a high quality "Made in Florida" item to give to others as a special treat, this is it!

This is my first experience into Bottarga but after a few spoonfuls I think this stuff is special. I love a certain saltwater flavor to a lot of dishes, especially pizza and pasta. This stuff has the perfect touch of smoked, seafood and briny flavor I was looking for. The taste is pronounced enough to make it's presence know but never overpowers the actual dish like anchovies have a tendency to do. I only use a sprinkling but it definitely adds a certain depth to dishes. Try it in tuna melt to add more depth and wow your taste buds. Its also made in America which is always a plus in my book.

Very fishy, never tried it before so not exactly what I thought it would be like. So I can't really fairly say much else.

This product arrived w/o packing to keep cool or moist. It appeared and tastes dry, nothing like the rave reviews.

Yummy! My new favorite topping😀I’m not a big fan of fish, but I bought this because of the omegas and other health benefits. I sprinkled it over a pasta dish I made and was sold! I used it over sautéed greens, soup, scrambled eggs, and scallops. It doesn’t taste like fish, but like a dash of the sea. Love it!
