If you happen to be wondering the purpose of the little acrylic beads, they keep the rings from making a more dreadful sound as you drag the curtain open and closed. My curtain rod is a little rusty so you can see some discoloration on the beads. If that will bug you, I would pick a different color!

I like these because the beads they roll on are very quiet and much smoother than the ones with metal beads it’s a small thing, but for me it made the difference in which ones I bought.
