Don’t waste your money!
This worked for a little while but once my toddler learned his insane strength it was game over, the 3M tape does not stick very well my toddler pulled it off no problem and after 4 times it was over and won’t stick anymore

Awful Adhesive
I usually only write reviews for things I absolutely love, but I had to write a negative one for this item. It is awful. The adhesive that is supposed to go on the toilet bowl does not stick at all, even when I followed all directions. I would return, but I have already thrown away all the packaging. Save your money!

Have bought a few of these
These work great for toilets and anywhere that those darn cabinet ones won’t work. I did have to super glue mine because my son has asd and he’s 7 so suppperr strong. They work great. If you’re using them for a baby/toddler the adhesive strength should be fine

No gaps
This lock was very easy to install. Our favorite part is there is no gap for our toddler to slip his fingers under the seat when he is trying to play in the mini swimming pool.

Not great for long term
Edited: ok I have edited my original review as I have had this for just over a month now and it came off. The bottom adhesive that sticks to the bowl part came up and as it didn't come with anything to restick it, it is now useless. It's also really hard to remove the top part (ironic, right?) The part that sticks to lid literally won't come off haha but the bottom wouldn't stay on. Talk about bad luck. We ended up buying a 2 pack from the dollar store and they've been on a few days now. So we will see how those turn out.Absolutely love this! It was super easy and clear on how to install. The decoy button definitely stops my son from opening it. Along with any guests we've had over. At this point we just sit back and listen for them to yell from the bathroom about how to use our toilet 😂 it's pretty comical seeing full grown adults not know how to open a baby proofed toilet. We love it. Our guests not so much. Lol

Helpful hint for extending product life
I had been using the regular Safety 1st appliance locks on my toilets because that’s what I had lying around; however, after too many cleanings, they’d eventually come loose loose and pop off. I decided to try this product after I finally ran out of replacements. What I love about this one is the fact that the strap swings down and out of the way when the toilet is in use. But, like some of the other reviewers, I had difficulty getting it to adhere completely flush due to the curvature of my toilet bowl. No matter how much pressure I applied, there remained a significant gap at the bottom. It likely would be only a matter of time before it popped off. My solution? Seal the entire perimeter with silicone sealant/caulk. Not only did it fill the bottom gap, now it will protect from moisture seeping into the adhesive. I’m confident that this simple and fairly inexpensive solution will extend the life of this product. I hope this tip helps! - An increasingly handy mom with a very crafty, safety-averse special needs toddler8/7/2022 update: My caulk/sealant trick has unfailingly held this in place. However, due to frequent daily use, the lock itself is starting to break down—both the rubber exterior and the internal locking mechanism. This is to be expected given how rough my family is on most household items, and I’d venture to say that this item lasted longer than most. I happily ordered a replacement.

Don't expect the adhesive to last long
The adhesive that connects the strap to the toilet stops working and will not re-adhere. I have received 2 of these toilet locks and the adhesive failed with both of them after about a month.

Work well
They work well and my 15-month old has not been able to figure them out (yet..lol). But I would suggest moving it more to the side of the toilet bowl, not near the front where the instructions suggest, or else it’ll hit your legs every time you sit down & my husband says it gets in the way in the front when he stands.

Not Happy with Product
The stickiness lasted one week max and now no longer sticks to the toilet bowl. Buying this is pointless and a waste of money. Completely defeats the purpose of what its supposed to do.
