Business or Blood: Mafia Boss Vito Rizzuto's Last War Paperback – February 2, 2016

Very detailed, but agree it could use a flow chart to show connections. So many names thrown at you so quickly will have you paging back through chapters to figure out the relationship between gangaters. The addition of their nicknames EVERY TIME a character is introduced also made it harder to follow. One last critique is that it jumps around in time wayy too much. Because the relationship tracking is difficult, it is compounded by the fact that it isn't written in a linear fashion. It constantly jumps to the past. One sentence you will be in 2004, and then all of a sudden you're back in 1968 again. Overall well researched and interesting, but takes a bit of work. Not the easiest read.

Terrific book. Very up to date research on the Montreal Mafia or the "Mileu" which the book terms organized crime in Montreal. Great writing especially with the cat and mouse game of Desjardins and Salvatore Montagna. The book makes Montagna out to be a very mischievous criminal entrepreneur whose presence became known quick in Montreal. Makes me wonder if Montagna wasn't behind the murder of Nicolo Rizzuto Jr. Still interested to see how the Montreal Mafia scenario plays out.Quick notes about the book:Giuseppe Fetta is not deadGerlando Sciascia was not murdered by Gambino familyGerlando Sciascia did not criticize any Gambino family members for drug use.

I liked it I just wish they got to all of Vito's revenge a little earlier in the book. Overall it was a good read.

I am a mafia nut and i loved this true account of this mafia don, thought the book was interesting and informative, recommed to other brother mafia nuts.

Too confusing for me, all those names and hardly ever a link between them.

couldn't put down

I've read pretty much every other book on the Rizzuto family. This is the perfect book to read to know how it all ended and went down. Gives a short history on the family on how they became powerfully but its focused more on the war that was going on while he was in prison. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

A little ponderous at times but a spell binding story. Who knew that all the crap going on in Montreal was the mob all the time?
