Great book on how couples can communicate. This guy's first book "Love and Respect" changed my marriage and it looks like this book is slatted to do the same. Thanks Dr. E for your book and your ministry. May many marriages be blessed by the wisdom you share.

awesome book, we use it in marriage counseling.

My husband and I did a couple’s workshop through church and loved the one hour seminar that we saw from Emerson Eggerichs during of of the workshops sessions. He was highly recommended by our group leader so we bought the audiobook and this workbook.The concept of men need to love their wives and wives need to respect their husbands unconditionally is a good concept, but by chapter five I couldn’t stand to listen to the audiobook and go through the workbook questions anymore - the focus is horribly one-sided on how wives need to evaluate their influence on the relationship when they don’t respect their spouses. There wasn’t much direction for how men need to/can demonstrate unconditional love.The whole premise of the book/workbook could have been thoroughly communicated with a few pages, but after five chapters it was like a broken record of him repeating himself over and over again. I like listening to his one hour talk was just enough of the concept taught by Eggerichs but this workbook was totally a waste of money for us.

Somehow we end up giving what we want to our mate and before we know we are on what Dr. Eggerich calls the "crazy cycle"In this book you'll learn through many practical examples how to jump off the crazy cycle an on to the rewarding cycle, and how to decode what your mate is trying to tell you.I found the information throughout the book to help personally in my own marriage, and I now know when I'm communicating respect and how to run from the crazy cycle when it's coming my way. The only negative thing I can say is that the author could have used a few less examples to convey the point. However, for some of us it takes lots of repetition for us to finally learn the lesson.I chose this book as one to review for Thomas Nelson Publishing, and if you are struggling in your relationship with your spouse and can't seem to get a breakthrough, then this is the book for you.
