Outstanding publication!
The media could not be loaded. I have to start by saying that this is one of the best art compilation books that I have seen in print for a while. I own tons of fantasy art books and this is one of the few that is put together very well. Amazon claims that this is a paperback, but I wanted to point out that if you are ordering this, you will be receiving a hardcover book. I am in no way complaining, because hardcovers are worth a lot more. The book itself has a wonderful and appealing layout. All of the pages inside are made to look like old parchment paper with singed edges (nice touch, since it is a book of dragon art). Each page contains a profile of an artist and some questions pertaining to their dragon art. The pages following each profile is dedicated to examples of their artwork. This book tops all others, because the colors are beautifully vibrant, none of the pictures are pixelated or cropped apart. These are high quality prints and I think the book will hold up well over the years. The pages are glossy and on the thicker side, which is something I am once again thankful for. A lot of art books tend to have thin or recycled paper of some sort, which in these cases is a shame because it won't withstand wear as well over the years.Another thing this book has going for it is the fact that it appears organized and whomever did the layout obviously knew a thing or two about desktop publishing. Many fancy art books just have artwork thrown around without any sort of organization which seriously drives me bonkers most of the time. The art itself is for a wide range of tastes. I absolutely love dragon art, but within reason. I don't really like anything too cutesy, but nothing on the other end of the spectrum ie. bloodthirsty horror graphics with naked women. This is one of those compilations that has a little bit of everything for everyone. All of the artwork is different and all of them easily show how each artist is different. I really love looking at pieces of art side by side and seeing what each artist does differently. The art inside is very colorful and very few art pen and ink drawings (there is a limited number of those). Inside the book you will find fierce, friendly, cunning and even cute dragons. Everyone interprets differently how dragons might've looked if they had indeed existed and it is very interesting to see the interpretations of artists around the world. I wasn't familiar with a lot of the artists except Aaron Pocock and Stephanie Pui-Min Law, whose work I really love. The book features the following artists in order from front to back and the number next to their names represents the number of artwork they have featured in this book. The back of the book has the name of the artists as well as their websites and contact information. A good thing to have in case you have any questions or seeking more info on their art.-Aaron Pocock (2)-Julia Chubarova (3)-Nicolas Alejandro Pena (3)-Emmy Cicierega (1)-Ashley Hall (3)*This was one of my favorites-Chuck Wadey (4)-Ginger Cooley (1)-Isabelle L. I didn't like it, I loved it. I would say this is the book to order for dragon and fantasy art lovers of all ages. There isn't much reading, but hours of enjoyment ahead staring at art.

Top - Quality Dragon Art/Inspirational Book!
This made an excellent B-Day gift for my 10 year old daughter. Of all the dragon art books on Amazon, this was her favorite. Even though it is not a step-by-step beginning artist book, we are so glad we ordered this ... it was such an inspiration for her & I'm sure for other young dragon artists! It shows very diverse dragons that are not gory or bloody, just innocent & imaginative in a pure way. True quality all the way! I highly recommend for any artist that loves to free draw dragons. One other thing to mention, another reviewer attached a video of the entire book, so I was able to preview more pages than on the listing, which was a huge selling point for me! You cannot go wrong with this book :)

13 year old enjoyed
So appreciate Amaxon's prompt delivery. My 13 year old daughter (loves drawing dragons) enjoyed this on a three hour road trip telling me about the artists and more. The only disadvantage was driving is NOT the time for a kid to ask you to look at a drawing! As I recall, I did pull over once begore establishing the "I'll look at the hotel" rule

And each artist was asked what felt like random stuff
lovely artwork but overall, it feels REALLY lacking, in both the artwork and interviews. It feels incomplete somehow. And each artist was asked what felt like random stuff. Some artists had more of their art shared than others. And sadly, some of the artists whose art was the best, only had one piece shared and it wasn't even one their better pieces (I watch a few of these artists on deviant Art). They could have done a LOT better. Was disappointed but I love dragons and there is some great art in it, so I will keep it.

Anotther Good One
A great addition to my collection of dragon books. I like the artist fact-sheets that go along with their art.

Beautiful pictures, but it doesn't say much about how to draw & paint dragons.
This book has a nice variety of styles, and it gives some tips, but there's not really instructional material. I gave it 5 stars for its quality.

Just so you know
I bought this book when I bought my tablet and digital art program hoping it would be kind of a tutorial to draw some dragons. I was wrong it is just compiled art but I'm not complaining, it's very beautiful art and gives a lot of great ideas.
