Family Storehouse - 1 Week Emergency Food Ration | Food Supply Perfect for Camping or Food Storage - Apache

After our rations arrived I placed them in the garage in preparation for the zombie apocalypse. But then, last weekend we decided to pull out some of our meals for the final camping trip of the summer, and boy are we glad we did. Not only was it fast and convenient, but it was delicious. We all enjoyed the pancake mix, and even my picky eaters loved the Bean Chili Mac. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase and I can honestly say I don't think the 25 year shelf life is going to matter at this rate everything will be gone by next year!

I can't vouch for the product, but the low product rating is for this company's (Family Storehouse--not Amazon) complete lack of customer service. I called four times, no one in any dept. answers phones. So I emailed. The email address provided on package insert was incorrect and bounced back. However, message on phone gave different email address. One week later, and still no response. The products had no exp. dates on anything. There were two cellophane bags of pasta which I am hard-pressed to believe have a 25 year shelf life. I also wanted to know how long product lasts once opened. There was a code on the box of 102013147 so wasn't sure if that meant it was manufactured on 10/2013, in which case product would already be 4.5 years old. But I guess I'll never know since this company refuses to respond to customer queries. This wasn't a cheap product at $70 for some dehydrated food. So far the only impressive thing is the packaging in a very sturdy ammo box, but that doesn't justify the price if I can't even figure out the exp. dates for the products. It's unfortunate companies don't realize how important service after the sale is. I would never buy anything again from this manufacturer, nor recommend them to anyone else for this reason alone.

I love this product! I got it to take on a backpacking trip with me and it provided more than enough for myself for 5 full days, with leftovers! I have had a lot of MRE's and other types of quick foods and they have varied in taste, but this product tastes great. I found the meals to be delicious and quite filling especially being out camping and hiking. I am going to buy more to actually keep for storage this time, if I can keep my hands off them. Great packaging and great emergency item! Love it!

I like the plastic ammo box container it came in. but the bags of food are not sealed properly. I don't know if they figure that since the container seals the bags inside don't need to be. Also the bags are not labeled in a fashion that makes it easy to discern what they're holding. Haven't tasted it yet so I cannot comment on that and hence I went for 2 stars instead of 1.

Very sturdy outside! Packages all sealed. Nice assortment of food. I would buy this product again!

Product arrived very quickly and was as described. All packets are in tact and are quite large, with all nutrition information and ingredients printed on each pack. The case itself is very sturdy and feels "crush proof", so it will protect your food while it sits in storage. I'm not sure if the case is moisture proof but the latch keeps it sealed pretty good. I got the one with the Sawyer mini pump, which I keep in the case just in case I ever need it.Because these are my emergency rations I didn't taste test, but some other reviews here lead me to believe that won't be a problem.

I love that it's a week food storage, I haven't used it hopefully I don't have too.
