Our Dyson hand held has never had great battery life. Within 30 days the first Dyson Battery would only run the vacuum for about 2 mins and the second battery started to lose its life within about 3 - 4 months.This battery has given our vacuum a whole new lease of life. I elected to charge the battery for a whole 24 hours uninterrupted just to make sure that it was properly charged before first use. The standard Dyson charger works perfectly with it and then we were ready to go.In the past we would get around 45 - 60 seconds of "on/off" vacuum and then it would start to cut out. With this new battery we got minutes worth of on/off vacuuming without a single cut off. We left it off charge and continued using it that evening and clear into the next day before it started to run out of charge and then we left it on charge overnight.From what I can tell this battery provides way more life than the Dyson original even if the color is not the same (that is something I really don't care about. Aesthetically pleasing vacuum cleaners must be an oxymoron). The battery is no heavier (and no lighter) than the original and fits perfectly into the slot with the same robust "clack" when pushed in.

I bought this because it has 4.5 star rating with only 1 star rating. The 1 star rating mentioned (2 months ago) that it "shorted" his DC35. I don't know if this also happened to me but my DC-35 stopped working after I inserted this battery. I put back the original Dyson charged battery but the vacuum is still not working. My Dyson is only a month old. The battery also does not fit as smooth as the original Dyson battery. You have to exert additional force to insert this. IMPORTANT: This is my first time to write a review in Amazon. I haven't called the seller yet but I am returning this product. I am a long time Prime member. I am compelled to write this to warn future buyers. Do Not Buy this product.UPDATE (11/14): I called Dyson and they replaced my DC35. They walk me through the troubleshooting process and determine that the unit needs to be replaced. They don't repair DC35s. They sent me a new vacuum unit NOT the whole thing. Excellent customer service. However, if you don't want to go to the hassle of calling Dyson customer service or your DC35 is out of warranty I highly recommend NOT to take the risk of buying this battery.

We bought our DC35 here on Amazon in January of 2012, and in April 2014, it stopped charging (and stopped vacuuming) just outside the warranty period. Since I am used to lithium batteries in laptops and cell phones dying after approximately 2 years, I hoped it was just the battery, and not the charger (which is harder to find the right replacement part). Luckily, this battery fit perfectly, was color-matched to the original (a surprise for me), and appears to hold a pretty good charge. The vacuum's run time is basically what it was when brand new. We are very happy we now have a "like new" vacuum again for one-tenth the cost of buying a new one.

This item works great. I was skeptical after reading recent reviews about batteries that didn't work. Seems like a bad lot of batteries were sent out. Also many reviews indicated that they should be charged for 24 hours before use. Battery arrived with NO instructions or information. I charged it 24 hours and it works great with no problems. It does seem to hold a charge longer than the OEM battery that came with the unit. Would recommend.

This is a great battery for my dyson. Powerful, and holds a charge well. Color even matches good. Great service from the seller.Two years later, the battery died

I have DC35 and the amount of run time with just the standard battery especially at the max setting was a bit low for my needs it was a good buy and idea to have an extra at the ready wish it came with its own separate charger but none the less I am still very happy with this purchase BTW fit the DC35 perfectly a bit pricey but worth it, seems very well made

Had to return the battery because my wife bought one from Dyson. These guys ship from the USA but the returns are sent to Canada. $12.35 in shipping and a customs form has to be filled out. HEADACHE I wish I could have avoided!!!!!!
