It's important that people realize that all of the negative reviews here are for poor versions of the book in either paperback or kindle format. The hardcover library edition is nothing short of gorgeous, and I would recommend it to anyone. As for the novel itself, what is there left to say about the beauty that is Ernest Hemingway. After reading 'The Old Man in the Sea' in school growing up, I always wanted to pick up another EH novel on my own and this one did not disappoint. Follow Robert Jordan, the American demolitions expert, as he takes part in the Spanish Civil War on the side against fascism. While the war is the center focus of this novel, one will quickly find that the true genius of Hemingway's prose comes across in Robert Jordan's dialogue with the folks he comes across during his journey. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed it found it an easy read. Study of the war constanly brought up this work so i read out of interest did not disapoint. Book arrived in good time and good condition
