Freeze Dried Passion Fruit Powder, 4 Ounces, Passion Fruit Powder for Cake, Drinks and Baking Food

I don't review products I've bought on on Amazon until I've had and used them for a while.I confess passion fruit is one of my favorite flavors. It is reputed to have relaxing qualities, and is a little bit acidic like lemons or oranges.This powder doesn't have the seeds and dissolves readily in hot or cold water. Sometimes I add it to tea, other times to homemade lemonade.I fell in love with passion fruit many years ago when I lived in Brazil. You can occasionally find the fruit, native to tropical climates, "fresh", in some supermarkets but it is very expensive. I was otherwise unable to find it here in the USA until I found passionfruit powder, unadulterated, according to the label.

I use these powders to flavor ice cream and sorbets, but one of the great miracles of these freeze-dried fruit powders is their ability to add volume and stability to whipping cream. Whenever I serve whipped cream with this passion fruit powder, my guests always remark that it is the best homemade whipped cream they have ever had!!!!

I love this stuff! I made a cheesecake and a frosting using the passion fruit powder and both were delicious! It’s also delightfully fragrant. Will buy again. :-)

This product surprised me with it's realistic passionfruit flavor, especially the tang often missing from things labeled as passionfruit syrups. I used it this holiday when making a passionfruit curd (I did a lime curd and added this powder to taste.) and it worked beautifully. I have added it to a strawberry ice cream mix for a fabulous ice cream blend. Real passionfruits are hard to come by here in the states, and quite expensive, and pulp is sometimes good but always expensive. This is easy to store, easy to use, and great for most purposes. Great to have on hand. I look forward to trying it in shortbread, I use powdered dehydrated strawberries for great cookies and think passionfruit would be a great variation.

Great for making chocolate centers

I use this in an herbal tea mix. Yes, it does clump after it sits for a while, since it's freeze dried but I usually just squeeze the herbal bag and break up the clumps before I scoop what I need for my tea. Would buy again.
