Sports Illustrated Football's Greatest

I bought this as a gift for my brother-in-law - a big fan of the Packers, past and present. This is a huge, heavy book with great pictures in color & black & white. There is a lot of history here. It is a collection of "greatest" people and events of all time, not just the recent past - so this is a nice gift idea for an 'older' football fan. I feel SI did a very good job on this collection of 'greats' and it benefits from SI's amazing photographers throughout the years.

Then this is the book to have. It is crammed full of the brilliant photographs which Sports Illustrated always has. The text is, in most cases, fairly brief but, the photographs are so good, more is not really needed. The purpose of the book seems to be to throw up arguments among fans by setting out top 10 lists of everything from quarterbacks to teams to stadiums. Guaranteed to have any fan arguing, if only with themselves. I assume it is even creating arguments within the sports Illustrated staff having recently read a compelling article for Johnny Unitas being the best quarterback ever whereas he is only number two here. Buy the book to find out who is number one.

I bought this for a friend. He really enjoyed it. Made his day. He said its got a lot of interesting info on each player in the book and its got new and old players in it. Awesome buy for any football lover
