Gentle Babies: Essential Oils and Natural Remedies for Pregnancy, Childbirth, Infants and Young Children Unknown Binding – January 1, 2014

This is a wonderful resource for any pregnant woman or parent, as long as you have it memorized. However, it needs some work for a first-time user, so that's why I am taking away a star. It's not as easy to navigate as it should be. For example, the index is a mess and is missing key things like "pain", "sciatica", etc. Also, whoever indexed it indexed every instance of a word, even if it doesn't make sense. So for example, the word "back"... I assume that when I am looking up that word, it's going to take me to a page about your physical back. Back pain, perhaps? No. The first indexed page says "The use of essential oils dates BACK to ancient times", so it has been indexed by word, not by relevant content. Also, "breastfeeding" needs to be linked to lactating, because if you look up the listings for breastfeeding, they do not take you to important information at all, just testimonials. It's just incredibly frustrating to use when you're looking for information that you KNOW is in there, but you can't find it. For the next edition, I would suggest taking away the journal pages and beefing up the index so it's relevant and accurate (indexed by content, NOT by word), and includes key terms that are pretty important to pregnancy.

This book is based off of the idea “nothing bad happened to me so it must be ok” This book contains SOME good info for adults but the protocols it suggests for babies and kids can be downright dangerous. It is filled with miss information. I’m a certified aromatherapist trained up to level 2 and currently continuing my education to level 3. I currently have 6 years dedicated experience with essential oils and I would not recommend this book to anyone. I’ve found a book that is Evidence Based and includes the references for each study and it’s 1000x better. I’ll keep this book but not to recommend it, rather as a what not to read when trying to educate yourself-book.

I appreciated the straightforward introduction to Essential OIls for pregnancy and children. However, there were constant religious overtones in the book that are not at all advertised in the description and product. As I am not a religious person, it felt a bit overbearing to have nearly every chapter start with a Bible verse. I just want to know about oils! But I'll still give it a good rating for the otherwise useful and easy to understand content. Quick read, short book, and good for reference.Recommend updating the Amazon description to make sure buyers know they are also getting some preachy references...

Not really the best info. Not really much info at all. Just a long advertisement for Young Living. I don’t mind the author having an oil preference, but it really seemed to get in the way of her objectivity and ability to really inform readers of... well... anything.

This book has some good information but relies heavily on propietary blends for the offered remedies. I dont feel like it was a total waste of money. If you use those oils sold through home based businesses this will be great for you. I dont use those so this is not terribly helpful.

I LOVE this book. Has some wonderful references and information about safely using essential oils on your little ones. It does reference Young Living oils, so any blends mentioned in the book are specific to the YL brand (which I use and love so it is perfect in my opinion).

I bought product used for a discounted price. It did have a small tear on back of book but hasn’t hindered what I bought it for This was recommended to me by my therapist and then confirmed by my midwife that they love it. My midwife also went to classes based off this book and loved it. I’ve already made a purchase of several oils I didn’t have. I don’t use young living because I’m not a fan of MLM. I use Revive which has comparison oil combination to YL.I am currently pregnant and I love the recommendations for GBS, hemorrhoids, post partum (which I have depression now so I’ll be utilizing it sooner), and prenium care to help prevent tearing during birth, blood pressure and stretch marks! I’m looking forward to the help

All the info I need for my newborn and toddler and none of the extra bs that clogs up other books. Alphabetically organized and super helpful.

The perfect guide for using young living essential oils on children

Auf einen gut gemeinten Rat einer Bekannten habe ich mir dieses Buch gekauft.Leider ist kaum ein Rezept ohne eines der patentierten YL (Young Living) Produkte.Auch die Texte der verschiedenen Schreiber/-innen sind für meinen Geschmack viel zu "US-Amerikanisch" (Entschuldigt dieses Vorurteil - es bezieht sich nur auf einen Teil der Gesellschaft). Damit meine ich übermäßige Emotionen, willkürlich eingeworfene Bibelverse (die bei aller Liebe nichts in diesem Buch zu suchen haben) und die ziemlich offensichtliche Begeisterung für die Marke Young Living.Ganz nebenbei: YL betreibt Multi-Level-Marketing, sprich, das altbekannte Schneeballsystem. Daher ist dieses Buch für mich wirklich nichts weiter als PR bzw. eine Werbebroschüre. Wenn man die patentierten YL Produkte nicht besitzt, ist dieses Buch wertlos.Einfache Rezepte für Babys und Kinder findet man auch bei Pinterest und in anderen sozialen Netzwerken.

Over paid, since sticker on book was for a lesser price. But was in good condition.

The book was not as I expected it to be. It would be fine for anyone that uses the specific brand of EO's used in the book but for anyone else it is practically useless. I use single EO's, not premixed. I also wanted more information about different ages and which oils are safe.
