I'll never have to buy another cotter pin
I bought this because the whole assortment was cheaper than buying the 8 pins I needed individually. So far they're working great and I have plenty of spares for the future.I bought this "used" and I'm glad I did, it was less than half the price of new and the only downsides were all the pins were jumbled up together and, presumably, the person who returned it took some. They also left one of the ones they were replacing so that's cool. It took about 20 minutes to organize them while watching TV, there wasn't any need to but I find organizing stuff like this fun.

Great Buy
I have a farm and use a JD tractor with several implements. Invariably as some point in time one needs a cotter key to keep equipment running. This particular assortment providesa great selection of sizes for most if not all uses (very large equipment excluded). Appears to be constructed of "tough" material, but time will tell as I just purchased this product. That being said, I still have no qualms about recommending this product. Price is better than a local farm and hardware stores.

Decent assortment of cotter pins
I'll keep this brief.Decent assortment of common sized pins, but keep in mind there are just 6 different lengths, and some are of the same size DIAMETER so you're NOT getting 6 different lengths AND diameters. For my purpose it has worked out so far - it included the diameter I needed but was a bit too long, so I just used a wire cutter to snip the ends to the correct length - easy enough.I think most of the comparable cotter pin sets are pretty much the same offerings as far as sizings, unless you go to more expensive and more extensive sets, but for me this less expensive set will do for the time being.

Don't Reuse Them- Replace Them
Good to have in your workshop. Why bother with trying to reuse cotter pins, when you can easily and cheaply replace them. Too often pins break when you attempt to reuse them, and then you ether waste time running to the hardware store to buy a new one, or try to substitute something else for the pin. Remember cotter pins are used to hold and secure an item safely- is it really worth reusing old ones?

Great stuff
Cotter pins. Well believe it or not, they don't use them in the Philippines and substitute nails. Well if you are doing quality work, the finishing touch should be a quality fastener. These are quite inexpensive and of good quality. If you are like me, you will have a 100 year supply; but if doing the work yourself they are money well spent.

Right size for most automotive parts
I like keeping an assortment of cotter pins around for use when replacing ball joints, tie rods, and CV joints. The pins in this kit are the right size for ball joints/tie rods on cars and light trucks. You can probably get away with using the largest size in the box for CV/axle joints as well, but they are probably a little smaller than factory.

But I don't think these usually need to be super strong in most applications
They're cotter pins. A lot for cheap. Not the same strength and quality as let's say the one that would come with a tie rod that you buy. But I don't think these usually need to be super strong in most applications, just stay in place. If you need a super heavy duty one look elsewhere.

Exactly as advertised
The pins are exactly as advertised. The metal is smooth without burrs. The box snaps close and doesn't spill open when handled roughly.
