After a blood test a few years ago my GP recommended I take a daily vitamin D supplement. This was supplied by the NHS as 800 unit tablets, with the advice that since vitamin D is a ‘fat soluble vitamin’ it should be taken at breakfast time with something ‘fatty’; the 800 unit dose is regarded as too low by many nutritionists. This product appears to solve all the problems. Since the vitamin is fat soluble, it makes perfect sense to supply it in an oil-based capsule and the dose of 3000 units is much closer to that recommended by health care professionals.
