THERMOSLEEVE 100FT 3/32" BLACK HEAT SHRINK TUBING

Used this product to insulate soldered wiring on a panel board of 80 LEDs and 40 DPDT switches. Perfect size for use w/22 AWG solid core wiring and the leads to the LEDs. Easily slips over the wire leads and the solder joint and snugs tightly in just a few seconds with a heat gun to form a tough and secure insulated fit. This product has a shrink ratio of 2:1 which works well if you are using only 22 AWG or smaller wire, especially solid core. If using stranded, which typically results in a bit larger solder joint, I would probably use the supplier's 3:1 shrink ratio product. Saves a lot of time vs attempting to insulate w/tape. Altho I use a heat gun, I found the shrink response to be so rapid that I think a hair dryer might also work well; perhaps a little more slowly.

I do a lot of wiring with my O scale trains and just moved, so everything I wired at my old house needs to be changed. This stuff works great. Shrinks well around wire and solder joint. Fits really well with 20 and 22 gauge wire. 18 gauge might be too big. The problem would be when you try to slide it over the wire housing. Fairly tight with 20 gauge.
