Fodor's Essential Egypt (Full-color Travel Guide)

I bought this book before my husband and I traveled to Egypt. It was so informative and really helped us prepare for the adventure. Although we had a guide most of the way, sometimes their explanation of things got a little long. We had already read up on the facts from the book, and it gave us more time to cut from the group and get hands on with the amazing sites offered to us.

This is an excellent guidebook, with detailed reviews of Egypt’s history, geography and culture, as well as useful advice on all aspects of touring the country.

I returned the book as decided not to go. Easy return. Looked like it had a lot of good information for anyone wanting to visit Egypt.

Got this for my upcoming trip to Egypt. Has a ton of information and covers so much. Will be great for helping me be informed on the different areas my tour is going too.Would be extra helpful if you are planning your own tour as there is a ton of information on the ins and out of Egypt travel.

Superb guidebook. Well written, good photos, maps and packed with valuable information. The book is also light and easy to carry. AND this book is up to date on Egypt, unlike the other Egypt guidebooks.

Great little book with loads of info BUT I've bought this a couple of months before I went to Egypt. I think they tried to make it "last" for longer as a lot of the information on there (opening times of museums, or things that were meant to happen/open which haven't in the end) are illustrated as open. For whatever reason works in Egypt have ceased, but the book confirms they're open (s they've expected them to be). Not the end of the world, but if you buy these books for accuracy and on this occasion, this book did not deliver.
