I've never used an induction cook top before purchasing this one so I can't compare quality to others. I did find it was easy to use once you figured out how to work it. Yes I consulted the manual several times after burning some food. It seemed pretty heavy duty and worked great. I use it in my travel trailer instead of gas which works out really good. We used it outside while cooking the meat on the gas grill and the sides on the cook top. The pans I purchase were crap but the cook top seemed to be a great addition to my cooking options in my travel trailer. The best thing about it is its size. When not in use I put it back in the box and put in under the seat out of the way.

Bought a different brand first with the same basic features but the difference was this has less increments to adjust heat -- which I found not to be a problem at all as it has a good range. Considering this is less than half price of the other, I think this is a very good buy for your money. I use this regularly with no problems. I like the portability factor and at times will cook outdoors to reduce heat in the kitchen.

I tested this device with both water and canola oil. Temperature indicators bear no resemblance to those actually produced, which I tested with a new Thermapen digital thermometer. . Temperatures of food being heated can reach 120 degrees higher than indicated. Device continues cooking no matter what temperature is selected, thereby eliminating any hope of being able to cook according to a predictable temperature. Mfr. is a mystery company. No warranty information, or even the address of the mfr. is found on the instruction sheet. Who are these people? Back it goes.

I am going to come in at 4.5 Stars as a have one nit-pick. The unit works great, is not too loud and makes my mocha pot in 6 minutes. My only gripe is the default on the timer is 30 minutes. You then have to set it back and then ramp it to 6 minutes for my use. Would rather have it start at 0 and move up from there but its not that huge a deal.Have had it for over a month with no issues otherwise.

Has eight temperature settings, but will boil water on the 2nd lowest setting. Very hard to simmer and cook at lower temperatures. We never go above the 3rd step unless we want to boil water. It is good at boiling water, but really the temps should be more spaced at the lower end for most cooking. Expect to rapidly ruin non-stick pans with all the heat generated.

If you have even fairly good hearing this thing makes a very high pitched whining noise. Not sure why but it weakens a little when a pan is on it but geezzz it's annoying. Product still works and boils water in like 3 min but would give it 5 if the sound and fan were much quieter.

This has held up to my expectations over a while and heats up fast using proper pans/skillets. Found it to have many features and did a comparison. Used a GE electric stove with rapid boil vs this unit. While it wasn't half the time it was much faster. Use it for an extra burner for tea or when only cooking for 1.
