As expected
These are light in weight and I would guess, holding strength. They work perfectly to hold small tools clipped to your belt or belt loop, I think they would also work fine for fishing rod security in your kayak. At the price they sell them for, if each one lasts a year they are a great value.

Nice, Functional, but not intended for heavy objects
These are a nice addition to keep things organized in the cockpit or the cabin. While they do seem pretty sturdy and extend about the perfect distance comfortable for tool usage ( if its too short for you, then get closer to your work), They are not designed for heavy tools or to be used as a leash for offshore rods.Aluminum pliers = YESBait knife = YESHook remover = YESVent tool = YESPipe wrench = NONight Night stick = NOHammer = NO50 Wide on a Bent Butt rod = NO

A good way to keep you equipment secure
A good way to keep you equipment secure. They are 4 inches in length (the plastic spring) and stretched when forced up to 30 inches. The carabiner clip is made of aluminum and spring locks in place, there is a steel ring of about 7/8 of an inch at the oposite end and similar to a key chain ring. It is my impression that these are not designed to hold a heavy weight, but I did not put them to the test (got better things to do today). I will use them to secure and keep at hand small tools and fishing gear that I use a lot and to keep at hand. Good pricing when you buy by the dozen. and their is a multitude of uses for them around home. For securing my fishing rods and paddle in my Kayak I use heavy duty stretch lines but I found that the stitching at the end of those lines to close the loop is their weaker point. I modified them by putting Stainless Steel hog rings.

Excellent! Surprising how many uses you find for these!
I have 3 dozen of these. They are invaluable on my boat and kayaks. For securing items that you need to use frequently, these work terrifically. I thought 12 would be too many, but within a week I wanted more to secure other items that are frequently used and easily lost. Great product, super price and fast delivery.

Good price for quality
Good price for quality. Not the highest of quality, but they definitely do the job for a great price, not to mention you get a lot of lanyards in the package. Great fast shipping; Arrived earlier than expected.

Great lanyards for fishing on kayaks or canoeing!
I like the stretchability of these fishing lanyards. They are great to hold all my fishing pliers while I'm out on the kayak and keep me from loosing or dropping them in the water.

Great Product and Price!
Have not used on the river yet (however, I have “shop tested”), but the items seem to be of good quality materials, well engineered, and a well made and assembled product, especially for the reduced priced ($9.99 for twelve units). Thanks!

Clips are a bit small, but good product
I haven't put these to the test in my kayak yet, but I believe they will work just fine. They seem durable, but the carabiner clips are a bit smaller than expected. With a little improvisation, they will do exactly what I've planned for them. I plan to attach a carabiner (maybe a larger size) to the split ring end on a few of the lanyards to tether my fishing rods to their holders when not in use on my kayak. For most spinning reels, the smaller clip will fit around the foot/body of the reel. If the spinning reel is a bit larger, just clip it to the bail or purchase a larger carabiner that will work around the foot/body. Since there wont be excess tension, you shouldn't damage the bail. I'm not sure of my plan yet for attaching to a baitcasting reel. Perhaps, using a larger size carabiner will work to fit around the rod above the reel and below the first eye. When I figure it out, I may post an update. For pliers, clippers, nets and smaller accessories, these lanyards will work perfectly.
