Don't really understand the negative reviews here; everything about this product is listed fairly. Yes it is plastic but its well made and NO ONE seeing the garage door would ever notice its plastic unless specifically inspected for that reason. The installation is super easy but highly recommend using a small drill bit for pilot holes as they are tough to start without. Other than that added immediate charm to an otherwise boring garage door is surprising. Friends noticed immediately and complimented the look. Really can't beat for the price. Bonus is plastic wont rust and the screw installation is more secure than magnet versions. Possible cons (only time will tell) is potential fading from years of direct sunlight and the handles are not for actual use

These are amazing!!! Bought several sets to put on my double car garage door. One of my dream efforts achieved by 65ish woman! I spoke with the manufacturer/engineer in CA about painting them, since I didn't want the stark black with my rubbed bronze lanterns on the garage/house. Gave them a light sanding, then wiped with acetone. Used Rustoleum primer and "hammered look" spray paints. Two coats of primer and two coats of paint. Easy process. So far, so good. Look is awesome! Fellow at Amer. Garage Decor said they would last longer than my home - the pieces are super sturdy. Expect these, with my DIY paint job, to hold up super well in Houston-area sun, humidity, and some freezes in winter. Such a reasonable price and so easy to install. Go for it!!!

Since the first time I saw authentic vintage carriage house hardware on an old garage in a nearby town, I have wanted to add it to my garage. And when I found this kit, I decided it was time. I had a couple of problems to solve during installation, but nothing I couldn't handle. I have to admit, this kit makes my garage look like a million bucks. It went from a quirky, slightly off center, rather vanilla mid-1920s single car garage to a garage that is just BRIMMING with character and charm. Neighbors are practically honking at me, it looks so cute. :) Which is exactly what I was hoping for.

They are made of plastic and not magnetic , however that means no rust and will stay in place. Makes the appearance of a plain door look like carriage doors . I cannot believe how many people that visit my home and come into my driveway , compliment them.Be careful to push the handle flat when screwing to install them as they will move slightly. However very easy to install in about 20 minutes tops. Big bang for the buck!

WOW! These things are Awesome! They really look like wrought iron and look terrific on my garage doors. They are simple and fast to install. Other products similar to these are cheaply made, not real looking and not made in America! The only thing wrong with this hardware is that I wasn't the one that had the ability to create them!!!! My hole neighborhood is buying them. Way to go AMERICAN know how!!!!

Excellent product.Appears to be a product that will be maintenance free for many years.I used stainless steel screws instead of the ones that came with it. Just saying not complaining.Before and after pic's of my 26 year old wooden doors.

Be sure to tape them in place first and adjust after making sure door opens and closes with them on. I am going to change the windows from 2 over 2 to 3 over 3 like the other reviewer with the old garage. I used a kit by New Panes so it will not be difficult to change that- you cut the strips to size and snap in place. Can't remove the old handles, but looks good from road.

Easy to apply, looks good -- enhances home appearance. Screws are mot self-apping so you have to drill small stater holes.
