Crash: Mind Over Mutant - Nintendo DS

Gift for birthday.

My six year old grand daughter loves this game. It has enough action to hold her interest but it wasn't to complicated for her to learn the levels.

Really a fun game once you get the hang of it.

Hello, it is I, writing a review about this game. Now, I've been a crash fan for as long as I can remember and this was the only crash game I had yet to play. To be honest I wasn't expecting too much here, but wow is this bad. I could say how the game controls as well as controlling your own fecal matter, sure. I could say that the soundtrack is duller than my life. I could say how the graphics aren't actually the BEST thing I've ever happened to lay my virgin eyes on. Better yet, I could say that this game is one, if not the worst in the series. I could say all of that, but will that really stop you? I didn't to me so why are you reading this? If you're just interested in mediocre ds platformers then I could understand why you are reading these words that escape from the hole in my face. But if you're a fan of this series I have a feeling your going to buy it anyways. So have fun suffering!Side note: It came packaged pretty good, so 5 stars for that!

my son played with it for a while and then didn't play with it again and told me it was very boring

Crash Bandicoot has had a hard time finding a way to stay relevant ever since the rights to the franchise got picked up by yet another publisher. This time, Sierra has been releasing games for the series since Crash Tag Team Racing. After that, though, came Crash of the Titans, which effectively redesigned various things of the franchise, including Crash's own character design. I'm just going to say it right now: I absolutely despise these changeups. Crash Bandicoot is now this goofy creature with a whiny voice.Mind Over Mutant, on the Nintendo DS anyway, is a 2.5D platformer that feels like it's trying to be like the Game Boy Advance video games, but fails to acknowledge what made those games fun. It's mostly simple running, jumping, breaking boxes, and the like, which isn't really a bad thing, but the problem is that they aren't that enjoyable here. The levels are all very unspectacular and devoid of anything interesting, and the sound effects and graphics are equally dull and lifeless. The one good thing that comes out of this is that you do now have a health bar, so one-hit deaths are non-existent.And then there's the mutants. Like Crash of the Titans, you can defeat enemies (which now don health bars) and take over their minds by hitching a ride on them. Unfortunately, these monsters have sucky control in comparison to Crash's own feel, but at least you don't have to always use them. I personally just wait and keep playing as Crash until there's a small part where the monster is required. Sigh.....And then there are the bosses. It's one disappointment after another. You need a monster for these if you want to inflict a significant amount of damage, and even then, these guys are full of cheap attacks.

アマゾンではＤＳ版とそれ以外のﾊｰﾄﾞでは同じ商品とみなされていますが、全く別のゲームです。それぞれについてレビューします（ただしＤＳ版とＰＳＰ版のみのプレイのため、ＸｂｏｘやＰＳ２版については、おそらく内容は同じだとは思いますが、細かい違いについてはわかりかねます。）・ＤＳ版ステージ選択制の横スクロールアクションゲームで、例えるならロックマンです。ステージは、５つのワールドとそれぞれのワールドに8個程度存在するのですが、各ワールドにおける8つのステージはどれも似たような背景・トラップで、同じステージをやっているような感覚。気分がだれます。ストーリーも、最初から始めた際にコルテックスとニーナの会話が字幕付きで出るのみで、それ以降は上記のステージをﾐｭｰﾀﾝﾄを乗っ取りつつ淡々とクリアして行くのみで、その点ではアクションゲームらしいですが、お話はあるようでないようなものです。ﾐｭｰﾀﾝﾄは基本的に強いので、攻撃ボタンを連打していればｸﾘｱは速いです。やりやすさで言えば特典は高いですが、逆に他に良い点はないかもしれません。クラッシュのゲームですがＰＳＰ版以上にクラッシュの存在意義は薄いです。ミュータントゲームと考えても、淡々と攻撃してクリアして行くのみ・・・。ＤＳ版であれば☆の数は２程度です。・ＰＳＰ版こちらはクラッシュの家を中心としたオープンワールド形式。自宅ではゲーム進度に伴いキャラクター図鑑や、子どもたちの描いたクラッシュのイラストなど、おまけ要素を閲覧することができます。ただしオープンワールドにつき、自宅から遠い場所に居る場合、徒歩でそこまで戻ってくる必要があります。このゲームは連続して与えられるストーリーミッションと、人形集めや一定以上の敵を倒すなどと言ったオプショナルミッションをこなすことで達成率が上がっていきますが、上記のように、一度通った場所でのオプショナルミッションを行うにはそこまで徒歩で行く必要があります。またストーリーミッションにおいても、必要なミュータントは適宜出現するようになっていますが、たまにマップ東端で必要なミュータントを失うと、西端まで取りに行かなければならない、なんてこともあったりします。ですが総じてゲームとしては面白いと思います。ストーリー中に毎度ﾀｯﾁの変わるアニメが何気に面白いです。ＰＳＰにしてはボリュームもありますし、サクサクｸﾘｱ出来過ぎてしまうこともありません。マップの役に立たなさやその他洋ゲーらしい突っ込みどころはいくつかありますが気にならない程度。マケプレでは軒並み9000円〜10000円で出品されていますが、安いものがあれば買ってみてください。長い上にあまり内容のないレビューとなりましたが、以上です。
