Makes smooth coffee
My tap water is mineral heavy and eventually all my coffee pots gets worn out or clogged and its a hassle to clean them. I bought this because I wanted something simple. The glass jar is thin and light, Im surprised it hasn't cracked while pouring in the hot water when its sitting on the counter. The metal filter up top is pretty cool. I put in a regular paper coffee filter, had to fold it into a cone to sit in there without spillage, dump in my coffee, then pour in the hot water. What I really like is no matter what coffee I used, it always tasted smoother than when I used a coffee machine. Its super easy to clean, I rinse out the jar, run hot tap water through the metal filter, done. It did come with a "cleaning" packet or something? I don't know what this is or if its even necessary. I just wash everything with dish soap and before I use it the first time, I run boiling water through it a couple times before drinking from it. So far, I didn't die or get sick or anything. So far almost 2 weeks of using this, I really like this. If anything happens to it, I'd no doubt order another.

Will buy again
I've been using this coffee maker for about a year now. The strainer is fantastic! It has never clogged up or slowed down the pour over process (I don't normally use ground coffee, I grind mine to a coarse ground so it's not as fine) nor do I get any coffee remnants due to it's duo mesh system (Even when I tried ground coffee). I prefer metal strainers rather than paper coffee filers because the paper will absorb the natural oils the coffee has. I personally taste a little difference, but just some of my insight. The neck of the pot is not wide enough for you to fit your hand into no matter how small they are (Unless you're a very young child). I just use a bottle cleaner to wipe the inside. Won't keep warm for long periods of time, but long enough for you to make a cup for you and your guest.

Made to last
I've had this for about a year now, and it still works great. The filter is easy to clean, and there are several layers of mesh that make it sturdy and effective. The glass part is still going strong, and the handle insulates well, but hot water is hot water, so I still don't grab it right after I've poured hot water in. It holds a liter very well, and saves a lot of space, since I can make hot coffee and refrigerate it to make iced coffee in the same carafe.

This pour over system makes a very smooth cup of coffee.
We drink coffee everyday in our home and have tried many different brewing techniques and coffee pots. I've purchase $100 coffee pots with no carafe, utilitarian Mr. Coffees, old school percolators, nice coffee presses, a pod system. Each type has it's pros and cons. This little pour over system is wonderful! I use a percolator (with water only-no coffee grounds!) to heat the water, let the grounds "bloom" in filter as suggested in directions with a little bit of hot water, then pour the rest of the water thru filter to fill carafe. The thing I find remarkable is that it makes the coffee very very smooth tasting. The smoothest of any style of brewing that I've used to date. I can drink it black, which I usually don't do because of acidity. It makes about 3-4 cups of coffee at a time and stays relatively hot. I can handle the carafe easily and the heat proof cuff is comfortable. I can reach my hand inside to clean it too. I also like the fact that it doesn't take up too much space on the counter. A pretty cool little invention!

A steel filter that honestly does not leak grounds
I have been using this coffee pot for a couple of months now. I must say that I have been pleased with it. The glass pot may be a little difficult for someone with smaller hands to pick up. But, that is not me.What I am most pleased with is the steel filter. I don't find grounds in the pot unless I overfill it. Water flows through the filter with no problem. The only issue is that I have to use a butter knife to get the coffee out of the filter. I need to be very careful to not damage the filter. A good addition to the system would be filter safe tool to get the grounds out.In case someone says it, I have bad memories of people rinsing all of the grounds down the drain. It will get the grounds out, but it can also cause a clogged pipe.

The filter is especially tight and easy to rinse clean.
Simple. No graduations. Glass could be a little thicker but it's OK. The filter is great, much better than I expected. -No- sediment at medium grind in a pretty good burr grinder ( About 12 years old Capresso 565.04 Infinity Burr Grinder, Brushed Chrome ) using a peaberry bean roasted ~30 seconds into the second crack. I've been using Aeropress. This is easier and the coffee is good. I had to reduce the temperature slightly and increase the coarseness of grind to account for increased contact time. I also bought a Bonavita 1.7L Variable Temperature Kettle Featuring Gooseneck Spout, BV382518V to avoid heating 36oz of water in the microwave in a very big measuring cup ( as opposed to 12oz at a time for the Aeropress ).A note of caution. I tried to pull off the plastic cuff to dry underneath it. It's -very- stiff and springy. As the carafe exited the split in the cuff, the tension of the cuff pulling itself closed catapulted the carafe across the counter and smashed it to shards against the toaster oven. (I ordered a new one.) If you try the same maneuver, be warned.Update. I returned the Bonavita kettle immediately. High priced garbage. Awful.

Well woth the cost.
I've been using this for over a year and have found it easy to use and clean; and, makes a great cup of coffee. Although it's easy to clean out the grounds, there was always some grounds left clinging to the metal perforated filter; so, we just use a small basket type paper filter. Even though it doesn't fit perfect, it keeps those few coffee grounds out of the septic tank. Even with that, I'm still giving it 5 stars due to price, ease of use and flavor it produces.

Works good if you keep filter clean
This product works well once you figure out your coffee/ water ratio. I recommend following the instructions about cleaning the filter with baking soda once a week or so, otherwise the filter gets clogged and you won't get a proper cup of coffee
