A love story for the ages.
Zani and Alexander, it was love at first sight though it would be over a thousand years before they came together. Their passion so strong but their drive and will was even stronger so that they could never find the balance needed to stay together. Sometimes it was as short as the years others hundreds but always they would break apart unable to reconcile their differences but one thing no one ever doubted for Zani there was only ever Alexander and for Alexander only Zani. After the events of the Battle of New York Alexander is left with the knowledge that Zani may be gone for good, yes she is in a healing sleep but can any amount of sleep heal the grave range she sustained from Lijouan. If not for his grandson Zander, Alexander would have followed her into the great unknown but then miraculously Zani awakens as strong as ever. But is she the same, She feels a pulse deep inside herself which seems to call out to something that she cannot put a name to, She fears Lijouan may have left her with more than just had memories of her attack.

Boring
I am a huge fan of this series and author but this story was boring, I have always struggled to put down her books and usually read them in one day, not with this one, I actually struggled to finish it.Too much of the storyline was a rehash of what we already know and can we please be done with Lujian, that really has been done to death (no pun intended).Let's hope the next book is better and not a filler.

Disappointing, a long way from her best
I was in two minds about buying this one, as I didn’t enjoy the last one at all. Unfortunately this one was disappointing, even boring. The whole reborn thing has been done to death, enough already. The romance was like reading about two incredibly immature 20 year olds who’ve spent thousands of years being in a toxic relationship without ever managing to grow up. I won’t be bothering with any more of this series.

brilliant, heart breaking but akin to Star Wars film going in reverse
Yes this was brilliantly written in Nalini Singhs own style. So much emotion and detail. But I liken it to the original Star Wars film which was brilliant for it’s time and then all the following films went backwards when to me there was no need.I have been looking forward to going forward in the Archangels tales.

Not the best in series
The Guild hunter series has become my favourite Nalini Singh series. i await every year for the new book and read them pretty much in one sitting and then go back a few weeks later and read them again slowly. I am afraid i probably won’t read this one again though. The only other book in the series i have done that for was Archangel Viper which disappointed me. This book however was even more disappointing. i think it was because it just felt so rushed. I also could not warm to the main characters. Too many flash backs and not enough plot i think also. Felt like a filler and well i am also not sure whether it was the right time for the 10 year time jump as i would have liked to see a follow up to bluebell and sparkle returning to New York and settling in together. I do however await the next book.
