The Quartermaster General board games series does an excellent job of taking a huge & complicated subject like World War I or World War II and abstracting them down into a simple yet deep strategy game. This is a high level game where you control 1 or more of the nations involved in the conflict. There is no dice combat and everything is handled via very smart card play and planning.These games are super simple to learn and teach. The cooperative aspect of playing on teams is wonderful as well! If you have a hard time multi-handing a couple decks for each nation, playing only 2 players might not be your thing but even with that you are in full control and the extremely simple rules don't let it get too overwhelming if you have to manage multiple nations one at a time.I highly recommend this game for both beginners and experienced board gamers alike and I hope we get a few more titles in this series that explore other periods in history as well.
